Class of May 2014 Part 2
Anewpage, can you distract yourself with something. Read with the kids, watch a movie, walk, keep busy and get the talk out of your head?
When I am sober, watching my husband have 8 beers on a weekend night is helpful once I get past wising I could have the first few drinks with him. I just see where he eventually is so checked out, even if not drunk. And after 2-3, he seems to go more quickly for the next few. I see the switch flip. Not appealing. I don't want to be that. I was.

So 15 almost in the books. A pretty good day today! Over the last two weeks, I have had several God Winks... somewhat scary hearing his voice speak to me, but listening is comforting and reaasurring that His plans are so much grander that anything I can concoct. I hope you are all still wearing your life vests, I sure am. Thankful for all of you!
In for the night I'm wiped out. My 6 yr old nephew, sister and their 12 week old golden retriever wore me out. Watching some fireworks over the ocean from my deck and then double digits tomorrow!! Hope everyone's doing ok.
Watching fireworks from the deck sounds like a perfect way to bring in double digits! Way to go big C... puppies and kiddos always = tired, but what a good tired!

Got through the "bewitching hours" this evening when I usually start drinking. It starts around 6pm when I am tired and begin to make dinner (usually with a glass of wine or two). Of course it doesn't end until the bottle is finished. Just focused on the task at hand, drank a lot of water, and thought about how nice I will feel tomorrow morning. Past the worst of it now by reading everyones' posts. Ready for day 6.

As day 15 comes to an end, I find myself very grateful to be back here at SR. Very blessed to have come through another Black time, and made it through back into the light. I laced up the running shoes, and went for a jog, realizing exactly how much damage I did to my psyche and body by picking up again. Still, it was a start to returning to a healthier place.. baby steps. At least I didn't have a heart jammer.. peace all.
Made it through day 11
Spent an absolutely beautiful day watching a baseball game with my gf. Sunny 26 degrees fabulous. Also got to see the other side of the coin...many folks in the stands were downing 10 dollar beers like water...and we're getting progressively louder and more drunk each inning. At one point I asked my gf was I ever like this?. Answer : Yes.
Was I like that today? NO!
Oh and my team won! So yay! Another sober day down. Bring on day 12!
Thank you.
