Class Of November 2013 Part 4
Well thought I'd check in after all this time!!
Alcohol for me has been a double edged sword, my dad was an alcoholic, and I became an alcoholic, seeing things from both sides has allowed me to contribute to many areas of the Forum.
One day alcohol simply stopped working for me, a Friday evening in November 2013 was the final straw, things couldn't continue, another hangover at work and feeling like death, but something was different, I really really wanted to quit this time, I wanted a new life away from alcohol, I wanted this for me.
Since then I've been an active member of SR, this place has been a great place for support, I read, I post, I get involved with as many threads as I can, I'm a big sport lover so very big on sports threads, many people find sport and drinking inseparable, but if I can do it so can others!!
I guess over 1yr on, my life is unrecognisable from what it used to be, and if I can help others on my journey then that is a great thing!!

Walking thru whole foods today, a lady hit me up with a wine and cheese sample. I said no thank you, but felt a little caught off guard and uneasy. Weird after all this time, especially considering I serve wine to people all the time at work. Anyway, thought I'd check in and see how you guys are doing

Doing fine, Siesta. I know what you mean about wine and cheese tastings--they somehow seem warmer and more inviting than merely pouring the liquid into a glass. All is well on the home front, and I'm still taking classes and loving it.
Anyone here in the class of November 2013? I Hope so! I couldn't find a follow on thread....sorry if I missed it, I can repost in the correct thread.
Just checking in to say hello....we would all be around the 1000 days...congratulations class of November 2013

Hi, Notimetoloose! How interesting your.timing is in posting; I got on here yesterday by chance and looked for this thread and gave up because it was so far back!
Now this morning I chance to come on SR and here it is!

Hi Gilmer, I did the same and did a search for the latest thread.
I am glad that you are here...I hit the thousand day mark earlier in the month and want to share with my fellow Nov/13...feels good and worth marking the milestone...

Did you know that you are at 1000 + day mark?
I was anticipating it...looking forward to it ..sometimes I feel still so new to sobriety!
When I first came here I would see posters with12 months and think they were amazing and what was there secret.
