Good gravy, what we have here is an inability to communicate...

Biscuits there are scones here. Biscuits here are Arrowroot cookies.

Soda there is pop here. Soda here is pop with icecream in it.

Sofa there is sometimes sofa here, but most often it is chesterfield or davenport if it is a sofabed. But a love seat is a love seat anywhere.

And gravy is meat sauce and pasta sauce is pasta sauce or tomato sauce or even sometimes red sauce but gravy is brown and goes on meat....and is best flavoured with instant coffee.

Language barrier Whine-Ku

Catsup...ketchup...whoa
It's very continental
But gravy is brown.

NZ biscuit= US cookie
NZ scone(savoury and sweet) = US biscuit
NZ gravy = meat sauce(brown) = US who the heck knows
NZ tomatoe sauce = US ketchup
NZ hot chips = US fries
NZ jandal = US thong(i think, like havaianas)
NZ couch = US couch = UK sofa
NZ petrol = US gas
NZ footpath = US sidewalk

And the list could go on and on and on

OH Noooooooooooooooo...... now I have no whine. Actually didnt anyway as had a lovely day.

Hugs again to Least.

NO one ever explained the swimp3 to me???? i feeling like i am missing something.

as for the dating sites????? On the down side, I met Mr. Fandy on ***** in 2006.....he was very charming and on good behavior and lived 12 miles from my house....then he squatted here for 4 years...we all know how that story ended...He and his 3 mortgages and IRS penalties of 33K are banished forever....I work too hard to support his lazy azz.

I've been on several dates with men I've met on E-Harmony, Match and I sometimes look on Zoosk...it's a process...and I am tired of kissing frogs & find that people are missing hair. I do not have the energy for it right now....maybe in a couple of months i'll feel differently...right now I am still processing my own tired feelings.

I think i will get out today, hit the gym and do some shopping.

I have no whines yet as it promises to be a lovely day, tho quite hot. I'm going to walk the dogs after breakfast before it gets too hot. It's been a couple weeks since they've been walked and I want to get back to my walking routine. Jack is getting too plump behind the harness and needs his exercise. He's getting so fat he can't wash his own butt cause he can't reach it!

plump behind the harness???? A very polite way to tell the dog he has a fat azz!:rotfxko

it's quite low humidity here too for now, but going up to 93 later, we did the long walk early this am.

I made WW crepes for breakfast...they were quite good.

Ann, gravy is tomato here in NJ..tyipically referred to as "Sunday Gravy"...the brown stuff doesn't count.

RZ is communicating telepathically with my cat????/ stranger things have happened...i had some wierd dreams last night that have not come to the surface.

(((Least))) Get thee out to where there are people...a park, a library, a coffee shop. You are grieving and it's okay to feel sad, but it's okay to go out too.

Lovely Sunday here today, I need to clean up my garden.

Who needs a suana in this heat?! My God, 102 again on Saturday and muggy as a swamp. And in the 90s the next 7 days. I HATE this heat! And no AC in my car, or my 4th floor crumbly/arts/loft space, just a fan.

*whine, scream, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah*

I can't wait till fall, and hope we have a very, very snowy winter.

*prays to the Norse Gods to blanket the whole US in 10 feet of snow*

I love the snow and cold, this is like an oven. I can not wait to move back north, to northern Michigan, or New England...this heat is drivin' me crazy!

My current whine is that weirdos seem to be coming out of the woodwork here today! Three scam/nonsense posts here from people who obviously don't have much of a life...

OK, I'll request 10 feet of snow in the 50% of the most northernmost states, and 5 feet of snow for the southernmost

(Except Florida, Southern Texas, and Southern CA, so that it does not disrupt my grapefruit supply!)

Yes, and quickly too. Hydrogirl and CatsPajamas (I think) I am grateful to our leaders to keep this place running well and safely.

Least - Been thinking of you & hope you're feeling a little easier.

cmc - Wishing you would feel perkier soon, sorry for your troubles.

Seems like yesterday I was wishing the winter would go away - so cold & such huge oil bills. Now I'm roasting and stuck with huge air conditioning bills. My favorite month is October - crisp & cool, but no need for heat or AC.

Food shopping today - oh, the horror. Coffee prices are crazy!! Decent bread $4.00 a loaf - Ice cream - $6.50 a carton? Really? Not that I have any business buying ice cream.

Yeah, I noted food prices are going up...and from what I have been reading, the heat and drought this summer will drive them higher this fall/winter. Good time to diet, I guess!
