Class of January Pt 6
Hi All - Just checking in to say hi. Things are fine with me. I will hit my 11 months next week, so just one day at a time.
Got feeling a bit low, but then realized that I had a cold - so that is what did it.
I find it nice to be able to identify the emotions now and name them. Once I've named them, I can then identify the root cause which is usually that (a) I didn't get enough sleep, (b) I am trying to control stuff I can't control, or (c) I'm just not feeling well.
Take care.

When and if I am allowed to try moderation I will respectfully withdraw from SR as I don't think I belong here if I am doing that.
For now that is not an option so you are stuck with me for a while.
------ And that is all I have to say about that.

I would like to be able to moderate. Doesn't seem as though I can, maybe only for a little while you know....then it wants to escalate back to way too much. I would like to be a "normal" adult beverage consumer, but for me, I've learned that right now at least....I can't......
back to totally dry, wagon boy, teatotaler Jon.....

Fub -
Moderation is great if you can do it. The key is just to be honest with yourself about what moderation is, how you measure your drinking, and how it is impacting you and your situation. Alcoholism is progressive, so this needs to be monitored regularly. I've seen quite a few people who actually could moderate ok at first and then the progressive nature of the disease kicked in. Some of them never made it back. I wish you luck.

Good morning class.
I am off to the gym. I am not real happy with the results in the time I have got back from holidays as I haven't lost a pound and have been eating no sugar and very few salty snacks. I got to figure out the why.
In January I am going to embark on the 12 week fitness challenge along with my wife but the only changes from now will be an additional half hour after dinner walk and probably no coffee which I like but think is very bad for me.
Take care all and have a good weekend. I will be back on Monday.

Good morning all.
I am taking a break from SR since I will be leaving the OS thread for the Christmas season to enjoy the treats of Christmas such as Christmas cookies, cake and Mince tarts and since it appears everyone has laeft here for the holidays anyways.
Before I go though I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy New years, Happy Holidays or whatever else you may celebrate.
With that I am signing out until the New Year.
Do not worry about me. I will not be drinking.
Peace out.

Good news about your friend Sandy, I pray she has a quick recovery with minimal discomfort.
I hereby declare a "no drama zone" around you and your nephew...
Have fun playing Father Christmas!

Just thought I would pop in and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
We may not have been perfect but we all made it through another year and were fortunate to meet each other.
Peace.

Good morning class.
Teach here.
I was thinking most of yesterday how sad it is that this thread is starting to gather dust and was wondering what happened to everyone and the comraderie we shared early last year.
Vicious Cycle and Richard. This is the EXACT place that both of you need to be. I know you are struggling and we can continue to fight for a better life together so get back in your seats and start checking in more often and start working on your homework with more determination. You can do better.
JS. I know that you are doing well on your own but we enjoy your posts so if you can find a little time for your old classmates that would be great.
Ditto for Massey.
For any others that haven't been around for months and just pop in come on back and say HI. Even if you have struggled or are struggling or have moved on to moderate drinking or found you really like to be a drinker give us a shout out and let us know how you are doing.
I miss everyone that has ever participated in the Class of January 2009.
