Thanks for the responses. I'm just going to try to get through the day a minute at a time and see what happens. I'm with you Wibbs, I can't wait for this whole holiday thing to be done! Of course, it will still be a fun day.

Right now I have to go pick up my mom who is suprising me with food and gifts. Back later...

I will not go into the new year with this way of life. It's not working!

It's a new normal for me. I'm gonna give it my best shot. If I dont like it I can always come back to this!

I hope to stay sober and forget the DUI that hangs over me. I wish I wasn't so go darned depressed over it. Anyone been there?

I haven't had a DUI spoil...but the depression is something many of us deal with after we get sober...for most people it seems to pass in time. If not a Dr. can really help.

We all have sobered up to our own unique set of concequences from the drinking. It can seem a bit overwhelming, but if we just take babysteps..it does get cleaned up in time.

My most recent quest is to find a count down somewhere East of the UK that is celebrating new year's in the next half hour. That way, I can fool the 5 year old's into thinking it is midnight and get them to bed.

Yea, it was my birthday week, with a hitch. An embaressing and very expensive hitch. I will lose my Hubby and 6 and 7 yr old, they will waik if I falter.I'm Very scared, but sober. I feel the biggest knot in my throat. I guess if I get back my licence that will lift my spirits, at a price. Money and sobriety.

thanks Ananda, U R the first respose I've gotten. I have been viewing this for 7 days straight and need more posts (15) before I can E mail or I guess chat. I cannot type there? I have gone to a MD, but same ole adviseand meds, not even the same strengh. Only making me more tired and mad. I plan a live aa meeting Sat. If I get a ride. I am very humiliated.

Any person got arrested with DUI and can shere the empty stupid geeling that comes with it,I've never been to jail, but it was the pits. I also am a proffessional and these flaws are to remain hidden. I'm ready to face my deamons though.

just think of it as just one more day spoil....if you can look up the AA number in the phone book you could probably get someone to take you to a meeting tongiht.

People in AA do that for newcomers.

Do you have faimily or friend support for this time? i'ts best to stay out of party situtions at first till you get your feet under you.

((spoiled)) welcome to SR. I've never got a dui, how I don't know. I drove everywhere p*ssed for years and under the influence of coke and e. Probably the thing I am the most ashamed of out of everything. I hate even thinking about it.

You have a lot at stake honey. Phone AA, get a lift, get your husband to take you. This is your life, your kids. Keep posting, but you need face to face support too.
