Finally Ready to Kick The Habbit
I’ll second that. We’ll all be fine. And if we won’t, we’ll deal with it then. As far as my COVID infection goes, it’s still just a cold but I did lose my taste and smell yesterday in a matter of minutes. If it comes back I will be forever grateful. Always took it for granted, but now that it’s gone…
I find there are a lot of similarities between the way you think and the way my girlfriend does. She needs to feel in control, I always tease her that it’s only an illusion of control. No one is in control, and we don’t need to be. What we need is the ability to not worry (too much) about everything that can happen to us in a bad way. It’s a waste of energy and it will not help in any way when these bad things happen (IF they do, they probably never will). And when they do, you might be surprised with your ability to handle the situation.
Have a wonderful weekend Ronantian!

Thanks FDM. Yup, my problem is worrying about not being in control, but I really just have to accept that I’m doing everything I can to protect myself and I can’t control anything outside that. My counsellor says that instead of preparing yourself to deal with the bad thing, I’m actually just inflicting unnecessary pain. I need to work on training my mind to accept that I can’t control the pandemic, but I am safe and won’t be seriously ill if I’m unlucky enough to get it. Fingers crossed I’ll get called for my booster soon and that will be another layer of protection.

Thanks for checking in FDM.
I’m doing a lot better over the last few weeks. Have completely cut down on internet use, as that was fuelling the anxiety. Now I’m online for a short while in the morning and evening, and that’s it. Getting the booster has helped give me some perspective too. I’m far more confident that I’ll be fine if I get covid.
How are you doing? Has your taste and smell come back? Think that would be the biggest irritation.

Very good call to avoid the online news, if I would read it I’d be anxious too.
My smell and taste are returning, but it’s not fully back to normal. I am confident all will be normal again on short notice.
Keep up that great streak of yours and have a great weekend!

Nice going partner!
Tomorrow I’m at four weeks without using any. Happy with that but not too joyful about my state of mind for the last couple of days. Can’t shake the meh-feeling, I’m restless and a bit agitated. I’m going to do my best to turn that around.
