Grateful to go camping with a good friend (another old drinking buddy, now seven years sober) and to get to kayak a creek that doesn't flow at floatable levels very often. Now Deserto is super sore again

Grateful I scheduled a massage for this morning before I even knew I was going to go camping and kayaking

Late to the party, but grateful to be here to catch up.
Grateful that FBL scheduled surgery for July. One friend was so excited & happy after hers - she hadn't realized how impaired she was.
Grateful we no longer feel like we're missing out when we're around drinkers.
Grateful that the driving rain hasn't stopped the birds from visiting. It's like a sanctuary here - and costs a lot to keep them in seed & suet.
Grateful for the kind & patient fathers of the world - especially our dear SR fathers.

Grateful for all those here who did not drink at wedding events this weekend. Weddings can be tough! I am going to one this Summer and I know my friend is expecting me to participate in a toast. I have a plan though. It’s not even that I want to drink or looking for an excuse to drink. It’s about getting her off my back. Lol
Grateful for modern medicine and that cataract surgery usually goes pretty smoothly. Both my Dad and his wife (and previous wife) had them without any problems
Grateful to find a new book - Living well despite adversity. I’m not experiencing adversity now, but have faced significant adversity in childhood and parts of my grown up life. Adversity is just part of life and we will all face it, sometimes multiple times. I know my time is coming for more. Not sure in what form. But It’s unavoidable. I want to be prepared and not fall back to drinking ever again. I’m going to think of this book as another sober tool
Grateful for Fathers Day. I called my dad this morning and could only leave a message. He’s grown more distant lately. He has Dementia. But I’ve come to the realization that even before that he’s always been distant. Things got better for a while there. It’s ok, I love him anyway and I know he loves me too. He did the best he could with tough circumstances.
Grateful for my husband and his dad skills.
Grateful even though it’s Father’s Day and I should be cooking, husband wants French toast and only he can make that good, so he’s doing it. Plus he’s bbq’g steak tonight
Grateful to sitting on the patio enjoying the beautiful morning, the birds singing and nature
Grateful to spend a wonderful time with friends last night. The Dad’s parents are visiting from Australia, and it was good to hang out with them too. Though his mom has a huge drinking problem still and that was a little rough for me to observe her down two bottles of wine throughout the course of the evening and barely seem drunk
Grateful I don’t drink anymore
Grateful for all of you. Have a wonderful day!

Numblady, I misread your post yesterday, I thought you'd written you'd lost half a pound and you'd actually written that you'd lost half a post, doh! I thought you were on a diet,

Grateful to be up early this morning with no hangover or guilt.
Grateful for this quiet time before the rest of the household gets up.
Grateful my husband is back to work this morning.
Grateful for a good cup of tea.
Grateful Lulu cat has been in all night and not out in the rain.
Grateful that with all the rain we have had, we haven't been flooded out like some unfortunate others.
Grateful to have time to post this morning and grateful to read all your posts, it's the best start to the day.
Grateful to be here with you all. xx

Daisy, how funny. I was scratching my head a little bit. I decided it was metaphorically related to something I said earlier.
Fearless, will be interested to hear your thoughts on that book. I love to make lists of things to read, to cook, to do, to buy, to fix, etc. And some of the things I actually even do!
Deserto, how fortuitous about the massage!

Grateful for some rain last night as I know it makes the plants happy. Less grateful for the booming thunder that kept me a wake for a while but whatevs.
Grateful for a relatively light calendar today at work. This generally would portend doom and crisis but things still kind of seem manageable, knock wood.
Grateful for experiments where I let certain plants grown in the yard just so see what they are.
Grateful for flowers that bloom in the heat.
Grateful for farmers.
Grateful for you all and this group.

Grateful for everyone here and to feel inspired and motivated to see you
Grateful I slept really well
Grateful sonny boy is in full day camp this week, actually more hours than he was in school. I need the extra work time (and maybe also just me time too if I’m honest )
Grateful for my loving cats curled up on the bed
Grateful that apparently it’s Eat Your Veggies day. Glad I like them!

Grateful for my friend who always goes out of her way to have mocktails for me at her dinner parties.

Grateful to have booked a flight to visit my buddy in Montana at the end of July. Looking forward to talking more about recovery and going camping etc. with him.

Fearless - I used to drink like your friend's mom too. I could really put it away. Then I discovered it was due to the frightening tolerance I had built up over the years. Something to not be proud of, but to fear.
Daisy - Well...I've lost 1/2 a pound - and it only took a week.
Must do better.
Zip - I'm glad that member returned. I needed further convincing, too.
Grateful for our lovely group of kindred spirits.
Grateful sun is shining & I can work outside.
Grateful for my always pleasant husband - how does he do it?
Grateful I slept well with no disturbing wake ups at 3am.
Love to all.

Grateful for the full moon.
Grateful to my photo storing apps when they make little movies and memories for me.
Grateful for having time to go to lunch with work colleagues yesterday and not feeling stressed to be doing something besides working.
Grateful for another day.
