Go, go Deserto!

Grateful to aspire to be more like RZ and to know when not to engage the insanity. Sometimes I know. But also sometimes I don’t.
Grateful to have surfed some surprisingly intense urges yesterday. Lots of family time and kid fighting and we finally made it to the water park and they ask you if you want a bottle of wine delivered to your room, there are drinks everywhere, and it is summer and damn I really for a while just wanted to pound a drink.
Grateful I got through it by looking around and seeing some were drinking, some were not but that the people I always aspired to be are the ones having soft drinks or water and playing with their kids. Although it may look tempting for a while to be the person sitting at a table taking the edge off, it’s a lot more fun to just go do the water slides and goof off.
Grateful I went to bed sober, which helped me get through 2-5 a.m. when my son (and consequently I) couldn’t sleep.
Grateful there’s a Starbucks here.
Grateful to be able to come here and unburden some of this with you all.
Grateful for another day of fun (and probably also some yelling and consternation ) ahead!

Numblady - I'm glad you didn't succumb. There's nothing but regret & heartache in it for us.
Deserto - So proud of you for your 401.
Midwest - I've torn some muscles up too - but not from working out. Apparently I can't even lift a heavy grocery bag?
Grateful for the beautiful flowers I bought to plant.
Grateful for sun today for a change.
Grateful that this 'TGIF' isn't the beginning of another lost weekend.
Grateful that all the dogs MrH has walked at the shelter have homes now. He has a whole new batch to walk - all lovely & adoptable. The shelter has so many cats & kittens - at least they're safe.
Grateful to all of you for making my morning hopeful & positive.

Thank you all for your kind words re: the AV and not giving in. It means a lot to have your understanding and support.

Grateful for a much better night of sleep in my own bed.
Grateful today is pay day.
Grateful to (hopefully) be getting back on track for my workouts.
Grateful to read all your grats this morning.
Grateful to see Erratic and for all those who protect the pollinators.
Grateful for the luxury of time and space for certain worries, like the use of disposable plastic.
Grateful to be taking my daughter to a dress rehearsal today and first recital tomorrow. She wanted to know if there was something because she wasn’t nervous and I said it is great to be confident in yourself and all your hard work.
Grateful for all of you.

That’s so good to hear, FBL!
Numblady, I’m glad you stayed strong. I went to Schliterbaun last year in San Antonio (or New Braunfels?) and it seemed like everywhere I looked there was a water bar in the middle of the slides. I felt urges too, even after over a year sober. But it was good to pay more attention to all those not drinking and just enjoying the slides and fun with their kids. In the end it felt great to get through that.
Grateful to get a lot of housecleaning done this morning and to actually find this activity relaxing
Grateful for a soberly clear and calm headspace to make effective decisions
Grateful husband and sonny boy are enjoying a guys day and I am having a girls day with a friend.
Grateful for nice mild weather
Grateful for each of you
