That recipe sounds wonderful! I may need to bother you for the specific recipe!

Grateful for HL's 17 months! WOW!

Grateful for EQ's post as I also needed a reminder of the transient nature of discomfort and stress.

Grateful for my family and the community of SR. Pan

Gratitude for tonight... I got home safe from work, changed into my pjs, and I'm sober. Except I'm exhausted.

Grateful to catch up on some rest from waking up at 2 am and not going back to bed the other night.

Grateful to give it my all at my job, even though I've taken far too much abuse and stress from my supervisor and possibly collapsing emotionally and physically due to high stress levels if it weren't for a co-worker telling my supervisor to quit stressing me out.

Grateful for this co-worker/friend on speaking out on my behalf.

Grateful though to still stay steadfast and blocking out much that can get in the way of being a good worker, solid, good person, and of course the big one for me/us is making sure I/we don't ever pick up that drink.

Grateful to God, AA, and this forum for the discipline that I have in facing this and other challenges in my life.

Grateful that, as I go out the door at the end of the working day, this is what I see.

Grateful my four sisters got together and took me to a museum today as an early birthday present a few days early. Grateful they also contributed gift cards toward a big item I want to get myself for my birthday. (A small gas grill.)

Grateful through the years we all finally have learned to give each other what THEY want rather than what WE want to give them.

Grateful my dog looks noticeably better and grateful the vet called and gave me good results from tests done on him yesterday.

Grateful that I have remained a non drinker through thick and thin since my quit day. It has by no means been easy. But it has by every means been worth it.

Grateful to throw in a little physical exercise early this morning after I woke up. Even if it was just 10 minutes on the stationary bike at home and then 30 push ups, 30 body weight squats, and 30 crunches, it's far better than no exercise at all. I've neglected exercising the past few months and really felt the stress build up.

Grateful to remember that exercise is natures own best medicine and that I already feel better and less stressed out by adding some.

Grateful to go to my son's friend's high school graduation party yesterday and participate in some socializing.

Grateful to have a good father/son talk with my son yesterday and give him some of my suggestions from my experience in life about women, jobs, choices... before he goes off to college in Chicago in August.

Eddiez, yes you're right, beans on toast is a staple in this neck of the woods! some like a scraping of Marmite on the toast, then the beans, then a sprinkle of grated cheddar cheese. Mouth wateringly good!

Grateful for the lovely, talented Dolly Parton, who's just finished playing at Glastonbury festival, and I was able to watch it on TV.

Grateful to have spent a lovely day with my Mum.

Grateful that I realised I'd forgotten my glasses before it was too late to turn back in the car this morning.

Uh, my cooking rarely involves "specific" recipes. It's like sidewalk chalk art, transitory. That's why I said it was almost too good to eat. Once it's et, it cannot be repeated. Sorry. Otherwise, I would be happy to share. I didn't even use the recipe from the cookbook, just got the ideas for the ingredients. But thanks for the compliment!
