Grateful that our abandoned/stray cat that we care for came in out of the rain for a while today. I dried him off with a towel and he sat in my lap and on the stairs. He ate some more food. He is such a lovely, beautiful cat, Nino. Ruby, our little dog was out for a while, so Nino felt safe.

Grateful for the rain off and on all day today and will hopefully continue through most of the weekend.

Grateful to be tired and hopefully will sleep well. So grateful for another sober day.

And thank you for a third birthday celebration in as many months last night with my friend Jennifer here to help me light over forty candles. I'm catching up for all the birthdays I didn't celebrate in my 30s and early 40s.

Grateful I met with a fitness trainer at the Y today and made a fitness plan. If I had done that 14 years ago I doubt I would have become an alcoholic.

Grateful I took my bike in for a tune up.
Grateful for the encouragement of friends and family.
Grateful for a full tank of gas and some money in my pocket.

Grateful for a nice talk with my grandsponsor whom I had not spoken to since last fall. Glad we could be of service to EACH OTHER. Cool!

And grateful for making myself take it easy again this afternoon. I am having to make a very definite effort to let a lot of things go and I'm glad I'm getting better and better at self-care.

Grateful to have an appt with my therapist tomorrow as I just realized another pretty bad thing my "bio" family has pulled. Ugh. Grateful for the realization, however painful, I'd rather be in reality.

Grateful for my DVR and some Masterpiece Mysteries I recorded. I need them after feeling pretty let down not only by the "bios" but by a few others. Time to seriously let go and be free.

Grateful to try to remember Rule 62 today, even if I'm not doing a great job of it today. Grateful tomorrow is another day!

Grateful to feel better tonight.
Grateful to be willing take the time to care for my skin and hair before bed. Self care makes me feel better and gives others a better me to look at, proper self care is so much better than the careless grooming I had in the drinking years.

Grateful for the incredible relationship I now have with my younger sister.
We were best friends for our whole childhood and teenage years.
I broke the bond bit by bit over the years as my alcoholism progressed.
So grateful to be able to repair this relationship and to feel this closeness once again.
