Hi All...

Just grateful to sit back and look at the week behind me, reflect on its joys and accomplishments, look forward to a relaxing weekend, and then plan on how I can improve things based on the retrospective.

Grateful I'll be able to get into the garden and enjoy the outdoors after being stuffed behind a desk all week. Nothing like satisfying that instant gratification need by seeing the results in a freshly weeded and mulched garden.

A little late this year, but it is getting done.

Have a good night, all....

Hi tippingpoint and welcome to grats...I consider it the most important aspect of my sobriety

Grateful for a productive day...cleaning and chores...dogs cared for...yard work done before the mother of all thunder storms came through...grateful I was sober so I could reassure my dog that the thunder was not the end of the world. Grateful I spent the evening sewing up a torn comforter instead of pickeling myself.

Nite nite!

:day1 TP and welcome to the grat pack

Grateful I went to the Dr's today and although I got a pretty heavy lecture on changing my diet everything else is A-okay.

I had my A1C levels taken and it was 8.4 I guess that is pretty high I am new to all this diabetic stuff?

The Dr did scare the beegemies outta me by saying if that level stays that high then I could have a stroke or a heart attack

So I am grateful I went for a long walk and that is the best way to keep levels down lots of exercise.

Nite Nite

Grateful for a safe home to have as a refuge from the sometimes wacky crazy world out there.

Newby . .. wishing you the best with your health -- that's awesome that you took a walk. Go you!

Today I am grateful I could pay for my dog's vet needs without flinching because I am financially in a better place because of sobriety.

Grateful I had the time to cook a simple but delicious meal.

Grateful for this thread. Night!

Welcome, Tippingpoint, and thanks for sharing your wonderful list with us as well!!

newby, I don't think 8.4 is scandalous and, yes, it is quite possible to control diabetes with diet and exercise. I've done it. Keep up the walking and keep asking questions!! The main problem I encountered with this was that I went overboard and became very rigid and compulsive with the diet and exercise, but that's because that's where the focus of my addiction shifted to and was what a lot of my eating disorder was about. It's all about balance and moderation now.

I am so grateful that I was just able to share the benefits of my experience with newby. That's one of the Promises coming true, right?

And I'm grateful that I'm trying to forgive myself for spending so much time in bed the last few days since I got home. I guess I need the rest, even if it seems like a lot.

Love and hugs,
Eddie

Early grats for me tonight...

Grateful that I had the kind of relationship with my dad where I can think fondly of him this Father's Day. I miss him and am grateful for that, become some people don't miss their dad.

Nite all. Happy Father's Day to the fathers, sons and daughters.

Grateful for the wonderful day with loving friends, another good walk for my brave little dog and for my safe sanctuary of my home.

Been doing thinking about family patterns and I am grateful I live in a loving home where feelings are allowed and kindness prevails. I am so grateful for this peaceful place with a growing garden I created with my two hands.

I am grateful for the seeds that know how to grow.

Happy weekend, GPer's.

Had a nice, peaceful day off - grateful for that.

Grateful for the freshly bathed, oatmeal-shampoo smelling dog at my feet, and to finally get the last bits of doghair picked out of my teeth from the bath.

Grateful I can trade a day off for work tomorrow so I can hire someone to do my garden beds. I let them go too long and don't have enough time to do them by July 4th.

Grateful to know that one of my favorite cousins will be here from far away to help us all celebrate the 4th.

Grateful to celebrate the 4th sober - they were usually the worst annual drunks of my life and something always bad happened to me because of my drunken state on the 4th.

Have a good night, all....

Grateful when friends and I switch items with each other...it's not about how much they orginally cost...more about who needs what and when...

It's especially useful when some shop in bulk and divide up food.
Yes...the fresh Honeydew is tonights treat.

Sweet dreams....
