Grateful for cupcakes, evening walks, rain showers in the summer heat, paying the mortgage, SR threads and all the people who make it what it is....

Greatful that it seemed like it wasn't such a great day for me. Time hung heavy in the air stirred by bits of loneliness and maybe a little depression. Great because I was feeling my feelings and they aren't always peaches and creme but they are always survivable and they will come and they will go--its life on life's terms. I don't need to soften or mute them with drink. They are what they are and I know they are teachers of wisdom. Without down there would be no up, without black there would be no white, without out there would be no in, without you there would be no me. A rambling gratitude but a gratitude none the less.

Grateful for an afternoon cooking tamales for my daughter, and pan-fried trout we caught for dinner.

Grateful for spending time with my daughter and grandson at church yesterday. Grateful my daughter wanted my opinion on a furnishing for her new home. Grateful my other daughter and my son called. (I was unavailable to them for so long....) Simply, grateful to be above ground, breathing, walking around and sober.

Sounds like my day today, or at least this evening. And I, too, am glad to know "this too shall pass." Thanks for sharing, McF!!

Grateful I decided to keep the stray kitten, took him to the vet, and named him Spencer (after Dr. Spencer Reed on Criminal MInds). He's a joy. I hope his big brother Remy feels well enough soon to play with him again. Remy's been a little under the weather since yesterday.

Also grateful I got two new sponsors yesterday, one in NA and a long-distance sponsor in Anorexics and BUlimics ANonymous. Now to get back to work on those Steps!!

Love and hugs,
Eddie

Awww, Eddie, Spencer's a very cute name - not many "found" pets make it out of my house either...

Raindancer - have a great vacation

Grateful for a break in the heat wave
Grateful for warm soapy showers followed by cool water and fresh pajamas.
Grateful for big fluffy towels I got on sale!
Grateful I re-introduced my weekly planner - feel so much more organized instead of winging it.
Grateful for an extremely good memory and that I didn't kill as many brain cells I feared I did back in the day.

Have a good one, all....

Grateful to be sitting out on my porch in the still night, not with a beer in my hand and several in my belly, instead drinking my diet coke and posting on SR, enjoying my sobriety playlist on youtube.

Grateful for a week of sobriety tomorrow with the support of SR.

Grateful for my pets who seem to understand my sad face and comfort me when needed and also seem to celebrate with me when I get giddy with joy at the progress I'm beginning to make.

Grateful to be alive.

Glad to hear it's not too serious, Carol

Grateful for some extra meetings and rest, grateful that a friend had a little work for me yesterday.
