As I noted in another post... I finally had the courage to go back to my old "home meeting"... and thank god I did! I miss the recovery that was always present in that room. I'm going put that on my Friday schedule from now on... that will be my new TGIF!! What a great way to start my weekend!

As for Father's Day, I have a nice present for the kids to assemble for their father. They are excited about doing it for him. So, for this weekend, I will put all of my stuff aside and help them celebrate their father, whom they love and adore.

P.S. I will be out on my bike for a 40mile bike ride bright and early tomorrow... b/c I still need to take care of ME!!!

I went to the dentist for a cleaning and to have a small cavity filled. And found out that...I'm hypersensitive to epinephrine! Yikes! Will be chilling out the rest of the day since the shakes I experienced really wore me out. LOL...feel like I got a good total body workout.

TG...I LOVE Lowe's. Lowe's and Home Depot are my two favorite stores...used to be Nordstrom. Have fun staining that deck!

Me too! Funny how we get older and our priorities change. I used to spend lots of time in Nordstrom, dreaming of all the cool outfits I could make if only I had an unlimited supply of money! Now, I wander the aisles of Lowe's dreaming of all the cool projects I could accomplish...

Guess what?
It's Friday again.

Tonight I'm going to see a psychic with my neighbor. It's a church fundraiser, to rehabilitate their historic library (and it will be inside the historic library, too!) - and it's bound to be fun.

Tomorrow I'm going to a wedding shower for a friend of mine from high school. It will be a great experience, getting back in touch with some old friends I haven't seen in a long time, and I am looking forward to it.

Friday!!! I have an exceptionally exciting date tonight -- WITH MY BED!!!
But not until I've acted taxi driver to my kids for a few hours after work.
But otherwise, I'm hotly desiring crawling into my bed and getting some quality sleep...
(I'm such a party animal! Woot!)

Count me in on the same type of party animal too!

I was going to drive down to my AD's for a visit with my granddaughter this weekend, but I need to get new tires put on the back of my car, so that's out.

I suspect a lot of naps and just staying in where it's cool is in order. I have some crocheting to do as Amber's friend is due to have her baby girl in July and I'm making a baby afghan.

I don't have the faintest idea of what I'm doing today or this weekend and I'm oddly okay with that.
There's a car full o rocks to be used in a landscape project. Guess I'll be tearing out sod and working on that.
This weekend calls for sunblock or I'll burn my head...again!
Thanks for topping this, StarCat.

I'll be spending my Saturday doing laundry(as always) and then going to Ds' girlfriend's graduation party(she did online schooling for her senior year)

Then I'm going to try and finish the attic up and get that stuff to my sister's house, along with the microwave($5 on craigslist!) and other household stuff I picked up at Dollar Tree today.

Wow, great thread! I, too, hate Fridays and weekends, because my RAH used to drink and/or binge on weekends. So, i started closing my office on Fridays, open by appointment only, stealing away to be by myself, sometimes going to a local casino - plugged into my iPod, playing slots or poker or bingo, getting lost in the crowds... sit in a movie theater by myself with a bucket of popcorn ... getting a mani pedi, or just sit at home and sleep, or watch whatever Bravo tv marathon is on that day ... Oh yeah, golfing all weekend is in order, the only place my RAH does not drink is the golf course as he hates it when I beat him... :-)

7.15.11 - Friday(payday)
This weekend should be full of yardwork. Putting in retaining walls, pavers, etc. It's hard work but feels good. Tonight I have to unclog the downspout. Not sure if my ladder will go that high and it's next to the electrical box. Cross your fingers.

Shellcrusher - that is a lot of work! I hope it isn't to hot where you are - stay cool!

Jazzman - that sounds like my kind of weekend! Summer is my favorite season, heat and all.

Tonight we'll be at baseball games all evening. The last one of the year unless there is a win. Baseball is wearing me out so I'm secretly glad the season is over.

This is the first weekend in a long time we'll be home with no plans or need to be somewhere or do something big so I'm looking forward to getting caught up on some things and just having normal days with the kids.

Tonight I'm going out to eat with a few Al-Anon friends. Nothing fancy, nothing expensive, just a nice relaxing dinner.

Saturday my sponsor and I are going to a rather well-known delicious French restaurant. I had to make the reservations two months in advance! We're going to get the largest tasting menu, and spend all night eating. I've been trying to eat healthy all week in preparation.
This is what I have decided to do as my summer vacation, rather than XABF's solution, which was to run around all over the place and rent a hotel a weekend.

Sunday another Al-Anon friend is coming over when she's done with work, and we're going to spend some quality time at the pool together. I might also take the kitten for a trip to the pet store earlier in the day, or spend lots of time sitting out together with her on the balcony.

I intend to enjoy this weekend.

Starcat that sounds so scrumptious. I love to eat out but rarely do anymore. Well I do - but it is a luke warm wet hotdog at a concession stand in broiling heat and humidity with sweaty boys and dog breath so not quite the same, lol. Enjoy the weekend!

TGIF and I have another sunny Friday off. I am sucking up my fears and getting on the ladder to paint the second story window frames and trim. The disgust of the current color is overriding the fear of being up that high on a ladder.

That said, I am waiting for the RAH to bring an industrial ladder over and to stand at the bottom and hold it! I have to draw the line somewhere, right?!

Well, today is the beginning of my Great Summer RV Adventure (also known as Practice for Retirement). I took the day off to finish the preparations. Tomorrow morning we hit the road. First night somewhere in the middle of nowhere, Nevada. Then, two nights in Vegas, three nights at the Grand Canyon, and then four nights at Zion Canyon. Yes, I'm going the the desert in the middle of summer. Am I crazy? See you all when I get back!

Paycheck day, *****o!!

Tomorrow - 2 hours of kickboxing.

After that I will check out a possible home for my mom to live in and take pictures. And possibly have some lunch in the mall that is on my way home. Its very very nice. A salad and a cheese crepe. THAT to me is happiness!

Sunday, I made plans to go check out some stores downtown.

Feeling good!!

And, laundry and cleaning up this weekend, but I enjoy it! Chances for mindful meditation.

LTD sounds like a wonderful trip, hope you share your pictures when you come back!! I like your sense of adventure.

I remember often how you said you can plan your life and suffer because its not what you imagined, or take it as an exciting adventure and be free.

I've been feeling better today about living the day as it comes. I took the bus home just because it was hot (unthinkable for me, I'm so cheap!). I'm making my exhibits for the county fair, and I'm alone in the house. And I'm okay with that! Tomorrow, I'm going on a nice long run, and then see the counselor, and then watch a movie with my son. Sunday is empty, and it's going to stay that way. (Like this. ) I'm not even going to church.
