My girlfriend is taking me out on a "date" to go see a movie and get a bite to eat. It will be so nice to put cute, non-work clothes on and be out of the house. TGIF, for real.

It seems I am forever posting Saturday happenings and plans.... Yesterday, DS and I spent the day at home thanks to a nasty cold he has, then a counseling appointment for him and a trip to find him a new bike. We found a great bike that's 'gold!' (according to him) at a great (affordable) price. Today, I splurged on a cheap bike for me.

It's the first bike I've owned since XAH gave away mine a couple years ago.

DS and I did a ride around the neighborhood together with my sister and nephews. I forgot how much fun bike rides are when you don't have some on laughing at you for 'riding like a kid' or grandma. Or making fun of you when you fall and break your leg and dislocate your ankle.

Bonus: I found out today that my 'little' brother is coming up for a visit next week from California.

Times flying when you're having fun. Not!

5.27.11 - I'm not posting a TGIF comment for myself today so I'll leave you with this.

Thank God GettingBy got her house cleaned from top to bottom today! Don't forget to give yourself a smile in the brilliant mirror. You deserve one.
Be aware of increased static electricity in those carpets They're shockingly clean.
And for goodness sakes, don't forget to put the seat...up. (Man humor)

just got off the phone with my friend

am going up to visit her over the long weekend
to get a good dose of cat hair

I can't have a cat here
it's just a one room 'studio' apartment
and that's no life for a feline.

sorry. I just can't do it.

so I'm going to let her 65 cats
crawl all OVER me and pretend
they're mine for an afternoon.

step cats.

then on tuesday -
the job dog-sitting begins.

and I am SOAKING UP how easy it is to watch videos
and get live streams.

I've got my veggie soup

and a LOW cal peach cobbler in the oven...

it's trying to blow more snow outside

so I'm cozied up in the house
and going to the DISCWORLD for the evening.

May wash the cats.
Well, may everybody's weekend be better than that...

I'm bummed because my sweetheart is knocked on his rear by a stomach bug (and I'm feeling slighted here, usually, the e-coli gather together at street corners and wait for ME as the perfect victim) so our plans for a romantic picnic are a little sidetracked. Instead, I'm cooking dinner for those in the household that are in an eating mood, and I will spend the evening like I've spent the week, reading, writing, and thinking.

I'm doing laundry and cleaning house tomorrow, going to IKEA for the first time on Sunday (!), and swimming (weather permitting) on Monday. I need a nice weekend.

Thank you for the laugh and hilarious mental image of nothing but your eyes (and glasses) showing under a mound of cats! LOL!

Barb, I think you might be going to my college roommate's mom's house. 65 cats. OK she didn't have that many either, but we always got a good dose of cat fur in the cookie-and-care packages that she sent over.

Going camping with the Family at my favorite camp ground for 2 days, will then hopefully talk my sister into driving back with me to pick up DS Sunday afternoon and then back to camp for 1 night with him also. Tonight I'll roasting marshmellows with my nephews and will be sleeping in my new tent.

(Florence, I miss IKEA! Walking through the store is so much fun!)

If you do, here's a foolproof way to wash the cats:

How To Wash A Cat

1. Thoroughly clean the toilet.

2. Add the required amount of shampoo to the toilet water, and have both lids lifted.

3. Obtain the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.

4. In one smooth movement, put the cat in the toilet and close both lids (you may need to stand on the lid so that he cannot escape). CAUTION: Do not get any part of your body too close to the edge, as his paws will be reaching out for any purchase they can find.

5. Flush the toilet three or four times. This provides a "power wash and rinse" which I have found to be quite effective.

6. Have someone open the door to the outside and ensure that there are no people between the toilet and the outside door.

7. Stand behind the toilet as far as you can, and quickly lift both lids.

8. The now-clean cat will rocket out of the toilet, and run outside where he will dry himself.

Sincerely,
The DOG

Dang, the one thing I miss about my no-TV apartment is the hockey! I grew up in Boston, so I think it's a genetic thing.

Today, I took a long lunch and brought my coworker to meet a feng shui designer for my tiny apartment that I'm supposed to share with an 11 and 17yo. It was a challenge for him, as I have no aesthetic sense either. I'm all excited now to go check out the yard sales tomorrow and go big shopping on Monday for a bunkbed, picture frames and curtains. I need to figure out the timing of all this stuff, and I better buy what I want before I chicken out and spend it all on debts.

I'm looking forward to NOT seeing my ABF much this weekend. I'm looking forward to working out tonight, going for a nice long run tomorrow, writing contracts and biking around the yard sales in the rain. It may snow on Sunday, hahahahaha ~ we're in southern Oregon, and it's usually HOT by now.

The best news of the day is that my secretary is moving into my office!! He's been down the hall, and it's been a PITA sometimes. Much better this way, though his dog will get fat on all the biscuits I hand out.

Life is getting better. Except for the hockey ---- but I just remembered!!!! *****ooo! The gym has TVs on the treadmills. Yes!!! Go Bruins!!!!

Oh lol

Got Gabanna, she hated me for a day but now she is her usual self, sleeping on MY pillow and eating my paycheck's worth of Whiskas. She obviously started whining, then cute Dolce came along and started meowing at me protecting her "sister".

Tomorrow it may be Dolce's turn, I, smart girl, waited for her to have all the nails covered with the soft paws.

Linkmeister your dog might be cool, but does it give you back massages? my cats knead on my back in the right places.... With the soft paws that is very enjoyable after a long day! lol.

When I had a car accident and couldn't move much for weeks my cats kept cuddling next to me all the time... it was a tough and lonely time, they made me smile and still make me smile.... I hope your dog changes its opinion about cats... not all are bad

Or maybe they were just using me as a pillow lol
It seems for them EVERYTHING is a pillow!!
