Whiners Anonymous Part 307 "We'll Whine Again" - Remembering Ann
We have 12-14 inches of snow and it is still snowing, I will go out in a bit and shovel. Riley boy slept right by my side last night and seems to be feeling better. He is not back to his new norm but is definitely better. He is curled up on the couch right by my side as I type this waiting for his Grandma..My MIL to get up. She loves him to pieces. I am just so relieved that he is feeling better, I felt so bad for the little man. He would not walk around at all, was holding his tail down and ears back. Poor little puppers.

Thanks Cityboy for the map. I feel a bit more oriented as to where Dee and Phoenix are located. I think before I just pictured the two of you eternally wandering around the Sydney Opera House I like maps and tend towards having some fuzzy picture of you all in your corner of the world.
Well more cold today. I will make contact with some friends today to combat my isolation. Also I have a Zoom sewing circle the evening with ci look forward to.

Woke up to the same old same old. At least the streets are looking better, almost passable. Don't know if I'll be able to visit my friend or not.
Thanks for the map Cityboy. Now I can see where PJ and Dee are from.
Woke up late cause I went to bed late last night.
Alpine, be careful shoveling. Do a little at a time and don't over exert yourself. Glad Riley is feeling better.

Bekind - I laughed at the Opera House comment too.
I need to get edumacated as PJ would say.
Alpine - So good to know Riley is doing better. It's miserable when we don't know how to help them.
Least - Sorry about your thumb & hope it heals up quickly.
Suki - Now that's cold. Poor little birdie.
Snow still falling here - but we didn't get as much as expected so far.
Olympics have started - will watch opening ceremonies tonight, even though they already happened this morning.
Hope all whinies have a great day with no unpleasant drama. As if.

I am at home again, today. Finally the trucks came and plowed my street, but blocked me in with almost three feet high pile of icy snow. Shoveled about four times, warming up between. Should be able to make it to work tomorrow if it doesn't get blocked again .
I posted the painting, from a post of Anns, called 'Perhaps The World Ends Here' , all about life, and how it often involved the Table.
Not sure what kind of pie, Cityboy.

Perhaps the World Ends Here
Joy Harjo - 1951-The world begins at a kitchen table. No matter what, we must eat to live.
The gifts of earth are brought and prepared, set on the table. So it has been since creation, and it will go on.
We chase chickens or dogs away from it. Babies teethe at the corners. They scrape their knees under it.
It is here that children are given instructions on what it means to be human. We make men at it, we make women.
At this table we gossip, recall enemies and the ghosts of lovers.
Our dreams drink coffee with us as they put their arms around our children. They laugh with us at our poor falling-down selves and as we put ourselves back together once again at the table.
This table has been a house in the rain, an umbrella in the sun.
Wars have begun and ended at this table. It is a place to hide in the shadow of terror. A place to celebrate the terrible victory.
We have given birth on this table, and have prepared our parents for burial here.
At this table we sing with joy, with sorrow. We pray of suffering and remorse. We give thanks.
Perhaps the world will end at the kitchen table, while we are laughing and crying, eating of the last sweet bite.
^^^ Oh Chic, I like that! That was written the year I was born.
Heard from my driver friend. He will take me to visit my friend and then take my home. It will be later on this afternoon when the roads are better. I will be glad to see her, it's been a while since I last visited.
I tried to clean out the feeding station under the table in the back yard but my broom wasn't good enough, I'll need a shovel. When bro comes tomorrow I'll ask him to clean it out cause he carries a shovel in his trunk all winter.
At least it finally stopped snowing.

Still snowing so I get to shovel more. Yay!! Riley continues to improve and is now starting to be his vocal self when I am cutting up carrots or apples which he loves. Yesterday he would not even acknowledge them.
Least sorry you are still dealing with Jack.

Chic - That's a wonderful poem. Thanks for reminding us of it.
Sorry you had to do all that shoveling. The house I grew up in - same thing - always getting plowed in.
Such a gray day - but lots of birds are visiting the feeders. Saw a Robin - very strange for Feb.

I heard a robin song, and it seemed so strange, I had to think for a moment of what bird it was. Had to rescue two wrens, who came in to the screened porch, too close to Marie, who was allowed to have her kitty tube in there for the colder, icy nights. Its so warm in her kitty tube.

I saw a Robin in mum-in-law’s garden today. He’s there most days though
Caramel I love the history of your table. Some interesting conversations around it, over the years..I’m sure!
Chic pleased you managed to rescue the two wrens, they’re such small birds.
Suki, only just saw your pic! Aaaw
