Yup, that's the joy of freezing rain. Do you have any road salt, Suki?

Our freezing rain/sleet, changed back to snow and now the streets are snow covered and look awful. And there's bound to be ice under that new snow from the freezing rain we had for a while so the streets will be very slick. I'm glad bro didn't go to work today.

Our local forecast has the snow stopping Friday morning around 7 am. That's about when bro leaves his house to go to work. I hope he stays home tomorrow too.

Man, the street looks worse by the minute.

I have some rock salt and sprinkled some on the steps. They're calling for sunshine tomorrow and Saturday, so I'm sure that will help melt what's left. I have no plans to leave the house through the weekend.

I experienced 'black ice' once, on a road that appeared merely wet. When I started to cross it, it was like walking on soapy glass. Even the loose gravel at the roadside had that horrid slick glaze.

Good luck, everybody.

That sounds like quite the storm all. Please stay safe.

I had a long talk with my Dad this afternoon; I merged my sister into the call. It feels good to have the contact. Also I went for a short walk and did some kind of winter gardening in that I took chunks of ice that I knocked off the roof and put them in the South facing garden that doesn't get much snow and is often dry. Yep I'm looking forward to Spring.

Now off to find a couple of papers to burn, do some yoga and maybe a bit more shoveling . . . . sigh . . . I want to go inflict myself on Dee, PJ and/or Cityboy in their nice warm climates.

Graupel - that's a new one for me.

Alpine - Thoughts are with you.

I love the idea of lobbing large snowballs at our Dee & PJ.
So far we have wimpy freezing rain & no snow. They closed the schools for nothing. Still more to come overnight though.

Graupel is a new one for me too. Never heard it before. Had to look it up.

Just went out and swept the front porch and steps and Billie's little potty area. The snow is still coming down. The street is nothing but snow. Don't see many cars out on the road.

Alpine, still saying prayers for your safety.

I have to go somewhere tomorrow afternoon and asked my driver friend if he could take me. He said, yes, as long as the snow has stopped and the streets are plowed and salted. I was supposed to visit a good friend but won't be able to visit if this snow doesn't stop.

I'm sad I'm not home for this big snowfall.....I adore taking pictures of my house in the snow. It's raining here in New Jersey.

I have another funny auto correct from today. I was texting Mr. P that Eleanor had not eaten much at daycare today nor napped.....that I'd probably have a hungry and tired baby in my arms. I thought if she wasn't too fussy I'd give her some CEREAL. Mr. P responded he hoped she wasn't so cranky I'd have to perform a cesarean ! My darn auto correct had changed CEREAL to CESAREAN - LOL !

Alpine, please let us know how Riley is doing.

Chic, I always loved the little cartoon of Ann and Bubba taking to the road
