I know my sobriety is improving because. . . .
Because I don't feel like I'm missing anything when my friends re-cap their boozy nights out.

Good decision. Sounds like your going through a hard time and your getting awake up call!I encourage Your decisions! We only have control over our own decisions. We cant always have control over the results but the decision to not take that first drink will make for happier results most all the time.
I don't understand...
I know my sobriety is improving because,
1. I don't understand why emergency vehicles have to drive through relatively deserted streets in the small, nondescript town in which I live with their audible warning devices switched on ???
AND
2. Neither do I understand why when my local supermarket opens at 8am, the only people then being present are a few shoppers, the 'alkies' in for their morning 'fix', as I once did, plus a few members of staff, they constantly have to blast out prolonged messages over the tannoy not to promote sales, but to get staff organised! Eh??? There's hardly anyone in the place.

Despite the fact that the neighbours right in front of my flat in this block smoke pot constantly, and I can smell it everytime I go near my front door I'm not intererested in using any sort of drugs anymore. Pot was a big problem for me, now I'm just irritated rather than tempted by the smell.
Had a ton of stress due to mental health problems and living in a horrible neighbourhood. People I had used with have been hassling me, but I told them I'm not interested. Even got threats off them but instead of using I just call my (sober) friend to comfort me and have some laughs and great conversations. Damn the 'friends' who used are boring to speak to!

I know my sobriety is improving because when something bad happens that I previously would have used over (like my boyfriend, and father of my child relapsing and lying to my face about it until I got a urine screen) I decide to stop another negative habit and start a positive one. This crisis = better personal hygiene and no facebook.
Recently I was planning my summer vacation and my first thought was, "No need for all-inclusive resorts because I won't be drinking." That's HUGE for me!
In the past, I would stop drinking for a month or two leading up to my trip. Because I wanted to go hog wild on vacation without feeling guilty!

The quality....
I know my sobriety is improving because I realise it's the quality of my everyday existence, enhanced by my efforts , on a daily basis to make spiritual progress, rather than the quantity of my days spent in recovery....
