24 hour NO nicotine/smoking club part 7
Wow awesome Guys! I'm on day 50 no cigs! The best thing I've ever done....for sure.....that and quitting the pills!
Congrats to everyone! I'm still having cravings though. Some days worse than others. Today was a tough day! It's maddening to get these uncontrollable cravings that tighten my upper abdomen. How can I stop having them?
But believe me it's better than smoking!

Day 23. I am refilling my welbutrin. I am not ready to go off of them yet. 1 more month, then I will skip to my lou off the pills. I actually hate pills.
Good job Lbrain - calories and carbs are better than tar and poison.

I walk by my old smoking corner at work every morning and it stinks even if no one is there! The brick on the side of the building is stained with the stink. Gross. How was I ever part of that.
Just hit 71 days and $641 saved. Keep it up YA'LL.

Welcome kittycat! You're in a good place for support to quit. Congrats on Day 1.
Congrats to everyone else on this difficult but rewarding path! It's been a while for me now, still have cravings sometimes but it's so worth not partaking and they go away if I wait it out. I gained a few pounds the first few months by eating junk food (Ho-ho's were my go to junk food) which I am working to take off. I didn't quit for the longest time because I was afraid of gaining weight, which is crazy. It will come off and at least I'm not smoking.
Glad you're all here and everyone is doing so great!

You can do this! Last December was 5 years for me. For the first 6 months or so, the only thing that stood between me and smoking was a pack of cigarettes. I never get cravings anymore. So happy to have that monkey off my back and wishing the same for all of you.
CG - stay strong - fight the strong fight. You too kittycat. Think of that stink. Nobody likes a smelly kitty. If it does that to a brick wall, think of what it's doing to your lungs. And your hair and clothing.
Several years ago I had to go for a stress test. They inject a tracer into your blood and then with an ultrasound or something they check your heart and areas while you run on a treadmill. The first thing the technician said to me was, "Wow, I can see you never smoked in your life." I asked how he knew that and was told it shows up immediately on any kind of chest view. It's a shame - and I'm still mad about it - that all of the warnings about smoking never included smokeless tobacco. I always thought it was just the smoking that was bad. Now I know it is the nicotine that causes a lot of the problems along with the chemicals in cigarettes. Nicotine affects the circulatory system regardless of how it gets there, including patches and gum.
anyway - DAY 46
