Good Morning Weekenders

There was another ‘fly past’ last night in Lincolnshire, by a Lancaster Bomber as part of the Dambusters 80th Anniversary. He flew pretty low. Mum in law and her friend who are 89 and 88 years were reminiscing about the first time they flew over and how scary it was back then. Mum in law has Alzheimer’s and can’t remember what she said two minutes earlier but remembers the war when she was a youngster. Terrible times.

Alpine, hope you managed to have some sleep. Thinking of you. xx

Have a good sober day Weekenders xxxx

Mags, that's amazing. I just watched the documentary 'Lancaster', which was very well put together. It said that they are based at Coningsby.

World hypertension day. Nice.

My Dad used to tell us stories about watching the dam buster fly by on it's practice runs. The Lancaster was one of his favorite aircraft.

Sorry about your pet, Runner. It's always sad when we lose a valued member of the family.
Hope you are getting some rest, Alpine, and that your recovery goes OK.
Nice to see you, Sao.

I've been quiet. I'm just so busy. My summer is not much fun so far -- helping my daughter move and also helping my man friend pack up and sell his cabin. I am trying to carve out little bits of enjoyment here and there. Went for a hike at the nearby state park yesterday. Mosquitoes are already pretty bad here and I did get some bites. Will have to use more repellent next time. They found the couple of spots I missed. Lots of stress, but I'm hanging in there, and I have to remember that this, too, shall pass.

The head of the Dambusters raid - Guy Gibson - has a blue plaque you can see from the canal, I may even have posted a photo of it here once. It is a couple of miles further west than I usually go. Richard Branson's houseboat is nearby - I have posted a photo of that here before, too. I must have posted stills of the entire length of the canal by now - lol.

Close to Sir Guy Gibson's house is the home of Britain's first ever dental hygienist. A plaque was removed in her honour.

Weekenders

The Dambusters 80th Anniversary is a wonderful recognition of problem solving. Just like life in recovery, Sometimes it will take a creative solution to overcome our difficulties. Like the AA slogan.
Think

Think.
It works wonders!

So sorry about your beloved pet, Runner.

Marty, the mossies are clever little blighters. Hope you can soon stand back after all your work and chill out for a while.

CityBoy and Dragon. The Lancaster engine makes a brilliant sound.

Zencat, so true, my dad used to say 5 minutes thinking saves an hour’s work.
