Doing alright out in cold California - it's 49 F so that's considered cold here.

Just put all Billie's toys in a pile and counted them... she has 19 toys!!! . She just found her old purse she used to play with back when we lived in Ohio. . She pulls out all the linings and I put them back in and she takes them out again. It's a fun game for her.

Maintenance man from the complex came today, very soon after I put in the repair request too. . He was very nice and put on those shoe covers before he came in. . He took the fixture off to get to the light bulbs, and the dust and dirt was thick around the exhaust fan! . So he went and got his shop vac and cleaned it all out. . I gave him five stars in the little survey after he was done. . And tomorrow when I go to the lobby to check my mail, I'm going to knock on the office door and tell them in person how nice he was, going the extra mile to clean up the dust and dirt. . Find the good and praise it.

I got ambitious today and did five surveys, earning about $4. . Not too bad for sitting in my chair and drinking coffee and answering questions about stuff.

And, as always, I am so very grateful for my sobriety. . Being sober makes everything I do possible. .

I sure hope the thanks button comes back.

Thank you Dee, true I know but still doesn't stop it hurting. Thanks for what you said too Cityboy. Alpine, Runner I'm sorry you both have troubles as well.
CB if someone offered me a drink right now I think I would find it hard to say no. Well done!

Mags, the day is here. I hope it all goes well and the cats surprise you taking it all in their little paws

Thanks Kaily. Love the pic. I remember a day I was as thin as a stick insect ‘apparently’ I hope the cats take it in their little paws too

Thanks Least. I’m sure we will be happy and contented there. The cats may take a little longer though.

SR was playing up for me last night. I couldn't get on it for a while and now the Thanks button has vanished. Least mentioned it too. Is this a permanent thing?

I had a bit of a cold all day yesterday, I couldn't stop feeling cold nor sneezing. I think the very cold weather from last week and being in and out of the house all week caught up with me. I ended up getting up during the night and putting on my clotes to stop feeling so chilly. Thankfully that seemed to work and while I still feel a bit "sniffy" the shivering has eased up.

Kaily, love the drawing of the cats. . My cats look like that only black and white.

Can't get to sleep tonight. Laid down an hour ago and just laid there, my eyelids would not close. . Going to try again shortly.

Pledging for today. Day 80. Next 10 days will be a test of sobriety. Haven’t had a sober holiday since 2002. Looking forward to remembering this one.

We should be closing on our house this Friday. Kaily, that picture is cute. Mr. A and I would love to have an A frame in the mountains.

Runnerf, 80 days is great. You can get through without picking up. Play it forward, ask yourself if it's worth it, or if you really even want to feel that way. Get a cup of apple cider or tea instead. Watch funny snow tube crashing videos on YouTube on your phone. Whatever it takes.

I'm planning to hold out from the sweets for as long as possible. Once it starts, it becomes a cascade effect, with me hitting the sweets table every 20 minutes and transitioning into the hard stuff, like fudge and pecan pie.

Cityboy, several years ago I made a dark chocolate pecan pie and even the crust was made from pecan. Talk about indulgence.

My man friend brought me a bunch of my favorite chocolate truffles from a very good chocolatier that has a store close to his office. I savor them carefully, limiting myself to one per day. It is the biggest test of my willpower! He brings them to me a couple of times per year. Any more and I'd get spoiled and they wouldn't be special anymore.

We are having a pretty major storm here, just in time for my daughter to fly in tomorrow. There's supposed to be a break between the 8 inches of snow we are supposed to get and then the high winds that will create whiteout conditions, and I'm hoping that break corresponds to my 45-minute each way trip to the airport. Fingers crossed her flight is not delayed and that it all works out.
