Best wishes to Least. Also hoping anyone caught up in the storms is safe and damage free. Captain and Robbie I hope you are both feeling a bit better today.

I thought I had hay fever but it turns out to be a cold, feel a bit poorly and hot but not too bad.

Our £'s seem to be disappearing rapidly as everything rises out of control

All the best Least.
Keep safe all in the path of the storms.

Kaily, hope you’re soon feeling better. Seems that time of year when lots of bugs going about. You’d think the cold weather would get rid of them.

I had the news on for a few minutes this morning but turned it off pretty fast. :

Just been to Iceland store and she gave me 10% off my bill at the till. Cos it’s overs 60’s 10% off day….and I didn’t even have to tell her my age. I’m getting old.

Love to all Weekenders

Mags, I know how you feel. I've long since given up on the trash they refer to as "news".

CBS, I hope your family members take the proper precautions and remain safe.

Captain, I hope you feel better today.

Thanks everyone. I am basically fully recovered. Strange how these things can knock you down out of nowhere and be gone the next day.

Kaily and Robbie, I hope you too will be feeling better soon. You seem to be having quite similar symptoms.

We have not escaped the rocketing food prices either, although some products are head and shoulders above the rest. Cooking oil for example is now almost as expensive as extra virgin olive oil. I guess that has to do with the war in Ukraine, but the general increase on most other foodstuff is hard to understand.

I’ll be following the huricane news and hope that everyone affected will stay out of harm’s way. It must be nerve racking to have to vacate one’s home.

Captain, I'm feeling much better today. However I can't taste anything and haven't been able to since Sunday. I was going to make a curry later today but it seems a bit pointless as I'll not be able to enjoy eating it.

CaptainHaddock pleased you’re feeling better.

Robbie, the spices in your curry might help ‘clear out your tubes’ or is that an old wives tale.

I think the spices in a curry can help with blocked sinuses, nasal congestion etc and as I've also just about lost my sense of smell too I guess helping get that back will also bring back being able to taste something. I'm now going to have the curry tomorrow though, to see how I am then.

Good luck to you CBS and any fellow Floridians.

Glad you're feeling better Captain!

All the best Kaily, Robbie - the loss of taste sounds like a Covid symptom, have you taken a test Robbie?

I hope everyone is OK. I read through the thread. Hugs to everyone.

I'm not great as the psychiatry team that I'm under the care of are adamant that I need to get bloods done. I'm a bit reluctant as i know they will not be good. It also brings up bad memories from about 10 years ago when my bloods came back and all heck broke loose.

I keep phoning my GP and cancelling. I know they are getting annoyed with me at this stage.

I know I have to do it.

It was the same at the dentist last May. I kept postponing but my teeth were ok in the end. Just my gums needed attention and I got a big lecture on flossing. No cavities and/or other work needed!

I'll have to try to get myself to the GP!

Take care everyone!

Tetra, there seems to always be a lecture at the dentist doesn't there.

Robbie, loss of taste does sound like a covid symptom. My sense of smell was hit or miss for about a year.

Not my picture, but it did seem like a good example of old school vs new tech. The chicks are going to be like "WTH is this".

My sister also suggested covid. I've not taken a test. I've had something like this a few times in the past (pre-covid too) and from memory at about this time of year too. It's probably due to a form of hayfever / allergic rhinitis. I'm not sure why it hits me around this time of year though.

My hay-fever goes off this time of year: autumn—stuff blowing everywhere, tons of pollen. But losing your sense of smell and taste is concerning. I would def take a covid test. s

Robbie, I lose my taste and smell when the allergic rhinitis starts off.
“Damp leaves harbor molds that can produce allergic reactions such as headaches, runny nose, itchy swollen eyes, bronchitis and asthma”.

Great pic CityBoy. I bet it wondered ‘what the heck?’

Keep safe from the hurricanes, CityBoy, Leigh and all in its path.

Tetra, sorry you are feeling bad. If you get what needs over and done with it will be better than constantly worrying about it.

Brilliant pic CB. I bet the drone owner was none too pleased.

Mags, I did loads of gardening at the weekend, a lot of which involved old leaves. I have had a headache all night and am coughing this morning. Could be an allergy

Please be safe in the storms everyone.
