Willow, it’s the same as fat balls but in a square. They love it. He was also eating bird food yesterday which surprised me.

I had to google fat balls for birds! I’d never heard of them. We leave fruit out for the tropical parrots (mostly rainbow lorikeets) and seeds for the non-parrot birds in our garden. Occasionally we feed meat to the kookaburras, but I had never heard of fat balls! I learn so much here

That’s probably not the correct terminology I used. I learn so much here too.
Oh gosh how I love to see the parrots. We don’t have them wild here but further south there are any in the wild apparently.

Apparently they are actually called fat balls for birds
I think it’s too hot for them here, they’d just melt lol

Our British birds are Lardy's . We do have Parakeets living in the wild now, but only very rarely do I see them in my garden. I mainly get Sparrows and Blue T- its.

Willow, I bet the tropical birds are stunning. And the Owl must be a lovely site, Manta.

Pesky squirrels are emptying my squirrel proof peanut feeder on a daily basis. Despite the nuts being covered in extra hot chilli pepper! I actually think they have developed a taste for it now, and find food without it too bland.

Morning all!

I've not heard of fat balls for birds but I'm not going to Google that to see if it is the correct phrase

Fat blobs to feed the lardy British birds
Yes Kaily the lorikeets are gorgeous, this isn’t my photo but they all look like this. We have loads around here. They’re noisy little things ❤️

Morning Robbie & Manta
It’s evening here though, so it’s soon to be goodnight from me

Happy Saint Patrick's Day weekenders (sober)

May the leprechauns keep you all sober and safe, luck of the irish and all that.

This is another Bear's Den, original kind of concept for a music video, either love it or hate it

Bird talk! We call those bird fat things suet feeders or suet cakes. On my walk there is a tree which one little sapsucker has claimed for its own. He/she is always on it at about my head level as I walk by. The other day there were two of them on it. Must be Spring. I also saw both Bald Eagles on the nest tree. Surely it must be time...

Kaily, weren't you the one who posted that squirrel maze video from that NASA engineer? I think the squirrels will always win at this game.

Red Breasted Sapsucker

I want to share an experience of mine. So our local LIDL (the supermarket) had a small frying pan and they mentioned the circumference of the frying pan and all i got while googling it trying to see how big it is, is people discussing things, none frying pan like. I was a bit naive, gave me a laugh .

St. Patrick's Day. Ugh, some icky memories. My friends and I used to "do it up" big. I am part Irish (a tiny bit) but I have a VERY Irish last name. So that was a great excuse to really CELEBRATE. Glad I don't do that anymore. My biggest thrill today is choosing which local restaurant to get my corned beef and cabbage from. A quiet evening at home tonight, stuffing my face.

haha, i'm not irish but i used to be strawberry blonde/redhead (10-12 years old). it's from my mothers grandfather the whole redhead thing. i actually love the whole boiled potatios, carrots and meat. not doing anything here, because i cant and won't. Stuffing your face with food sounds delicious, everything is better then boozing it upp

Today’s been a good day. The appointment with the alcohol support place went well, they are hoping to start the full support by Tuesday next week which is amazing and weeks and weeks before I thought I’d get seen. The sun came out this afternoon so it’s been beautiful and warm. I went out and got Indian fish and chips and a big salad from a lovely place, ate it in the car and then took the long way home and drove through the country lanes with the windows down.

Sounds like the perfect evening MLD!! Hope you enjoy!

Another early night for me, take care everyone and see you tomorrow xx

Manta, good to hear your appointment with alcohol support went well.

MLD51, enjoy stuffing your face tonight. I may just do the same!

Willow, those lorikeets are beautiful. Such vibrant colours.

A Happy St Patrick's Day to all, especially to our Irish posters.

Well done Manta, it's good to be proactive.

Frying pans and sausage dimensions, whatever next. Those internet people are obsessed

I have never heard of Lorikeets before, they are extraordinary - psychedelic birds!

Happy St Patrick's Day Weekenders.

I don't see why you didn't want to google 'fat balls', Robbie. I suppose using the word hairy in the same search could bring up some dodgy results.

Bim, I loved that squirrel video, but it wasn't me who originally posted it. Think it was Cityboy or maybe Fishkiller. Might have to go watch it again.

Manta, well done! You have turned a corner and on your way.

Stunning birds, Willow. That picture would make a great jigsaw puzzle.

I am have blood tests done at the local hospital today. I asked my Dr to add a cholesterol test as well, in hope that the potentially bad result will scare me into eating better.
