Happy New Sober Year Weekenders 01- 04 January 2021
HAPPY NEW YEAR Wendy, Dee, PJ and Willow and any other antipodeans!
The London Fireworks have been cancelled I think, instead there is supposed to be some sort of pre recorded light show (which sounds rubbish to me)

Home alone on new year's eve sober it's fantastic.
I think i'm turning into a bit of a hermit. I love being on my own. Ah well.
So who's online tonight for the last day of this great 2020 the covid year ?
This is fitting

MidnightBlue, I like your perspective. Other than the fear and worry (one daughter and her BF had Covid last spring), I guess my life didn't change that much. I've always been a homebody.
But I am looking forward, with hope, that 2021 will be better for everyone. I'm working on having a positive attitude. Staying sober definitely helps with that.

Happy New Year, Wendy, Dee, and all others who are already in 2021!
Less than two hours of 2020 for me.
I am home alone too, just marathoning some favorite tv shows and relaaaaaaaaxing.
Vinny, I love this:

HAPPY NEW YEAR MidnightBlue!
The big fireworks display may have been cancelled but the annoying domestic ones are in full flow. I keep having to remind myself through gritted teeth that as a youngster I used to love fireworks 🎆

Public parties are also canceled here in NYC. I like fireworks but only the visuals, without the noise and crowd, so I'll probably watch some recordings tomorrow because it's unlikely I'll stay up until midnight, at least don't plan to.
Haha, I have done my preparations and got sober in advance - 40 days today. If that was my only achievement, I would already close it as a very productive year, but I'm also one of those whose 2020 wasn't a bad year at all on several fronts... Of course all these are individual things and I hope an overall better year is coming for all of us in this community and in the world.
Happy New Year everyone!
Happy New Year everyone!
Count me in for a sober NYE. I'll probably stay up to see the year change on my computer. I just went to change my desk calendar and realized I hadn't bought one! I'll have to get one. I totally forgot to have my brother get me one on his way home from work. Will have to ask him to do that.
Less than 6 hours to go here until it's the new year. I figure it's GOT to be better than this one!

Congratulations on 2 years sober Forwards!
It's 20 minutes to 2021 here in the UK and I'd be lying if I wasn't to say I'll be glad to see the back of 2020. In the meantime I'm picking at food and listening to the chart music of Christmas 1978 / New Year 1979. And how good is it! Ian Dury, Chaka Khan and Shalamar and that's just for starters.
