Take a Break this weekend - Weekenders 31 July - 03 August 2020
It is on Amazon, but it isn't free....hmm.....and yes, most of the songs.....favs were How do you solve a problem like Maria (Change Maria to Suzie because that's what my dad sung to me ), and I am 16.....sigh. It was either the first or second movie my mum took me to see at the theatre....the other one was Oliver. Oh, and Great Expectations which scared me.....that room from the abandoned wedding.
Nice post, Least I too am very grateful. I have only been here for a short time but I already feel connected to everyone because we are on the same road, just at different points along it. My whole recovery is this site and an online therapist and this is the most confident I have felt in years in maintaining sobriety (one day at a time).
I'm off to work, have a great day people.

Our high school play was The Sound of Music. It was a dream come true to be a part of it. Oh, the fun we had at all of the practices, etc. What a great memory.
Edelweiss was my favorite song. I can still see Christopher Plummer’s gorgeous blue eyes (with tears in them) as he sang Edelweiss as Baron von Trapp just before, and as, the Von Trapp made their escape off stage and from Austria.
Good to see you here, Awake. Hope you stick around.
SR has been my saving grace, too. I was a couple of years of sober when I found this site but I was almost desperate for a support system. Thank you, SR.

Phew what a scorcher! 37C/99F here in East London. It exceeded 100F at Heathrow and Kew Gardens on the west side of town.
Good too see you Awake61!
I too am a grateful SR traveller. I suspect I owe my sobriety and life to SR, at least in part to the good people on this sight.I doubt I would be alive now if I had carried on the same way.

Hi Weekenders! I'm in--I always read the thread even if I don't post.
Seven days is awesome, Copperfield! I wish you all the best for your second sober weekend.
It's only 60˚ F here, and drizzling a little. There was supposed to be a chance of thunderstorms ending earlier, and I don't see anything on the radar. Usually the morning gloom burns off, but we'll see about today...
I am Zoom host for our AA meeting tonight, my first night in that service position. There's also a new secretary for the meeting, although she was supposed to start last week and didn't show up. We're struggling with low attendance at our meetings.

Hi everyone on Saturday morning
I’m going with yay today too.
Yay it’s the weekend!
Yay for SR!
Yay for Sao on getting shotgun!
Yay for all of us being here together!
Yay for waking up without a hangover!
Yay for another sober day!
Ok you get the picture
I’m feeling a little crazy this morning, a bit like that cat with the crazy eyes....
Who posted that? Andy? Or Bim? Sao? I can’t remember, but I’m feeling like that cat today!
I’m trying to channel the crazy into joyful and productive. I need to slow the crazy in my brain, because I’m feeling a bit agitated and distracted and on edge. I have to remind myself of the yay for sobriety to keep the AV away.

Here for the weekend and beyond.
just joined SR —got bad news— drank about it off and on...but I’m back b/c I need to get thru the weekend sober. My spouse needs me.
have to mow the grass now. 5 pm on Friday.... gotta get after it....instead of pounding a bunch of beers. I’ll be checking in. And hopefully offer support to all of you in the meantime.
no alcohol this weekend. the weekends are the hardest.
