Just got home and I took my first ever Uber today. Wow what a great idea and service. Probably not the taxi drivers favorite service but hey
Time for scrambled eggs.
Goodnight weekenders

the last one. I have managed to avoid hearing how it ends all day, but I suspect whatever happens it'll be a bit of an anticlimax.

anyway, hope everyone had a good weekend & made it through safe.

I’ve heard there’s going to be a series made from the back of GOT. Hope there’s dragons in it.

I have never watched a single episode of GOT. The way people are reacting to the finale today, I think I'm glad I didn't.

Is there angst about the end of GOT?

I never watched it either, MLD.

But then, if it isn't on Netflix I'm not watching it at all. There is some really dark new stuff on Netflix lately. I hope the world isn't really that cynical, or that the younger people aren't that sad in real life. Depressing series all over the place.

I keep watching like one or two episodes of things and then

If only they had all just played spoof for the iron throne it would have been a lot easier.

Is this sentence in a foreign language?

Confused. But then, nothing new, eh?

G'night, Weekenders.

Evening all, had the day off, but didn't stop working. Finished painting the base boards and put one last coat on the medicine cabinet. Then fabricated a cover for the heat vent & painted it's first coat. And finaly sanded down the door, repaired it where it was coming apart and put on the first coat of paint. Only the inside part as it was previosly painted, the outside part is not that great but I'm not gonna touch it.

Also tried some automotive buffing compound on the acrylic tub, it seems to really bring back the shine. I only did a small part but I might tackle the whole thing.

I put the trim back on the window but it's not matching up right. I'm sure if I keep playing with it I'll get them back in the original places.

Early to rise, back to work tomorrow (for a rest!).

Redid poly gel nails and it took me three hours but they look great. Had a weird craving while driving to the drug store to get the nail tips but managed to ignore it. Weird how it’ll show up out of nowhere.

Im sorry I don’t comment on people’s posts but just know I’m reading them.

night all.

Spoof is a guessing game whereby everyone holds out one closed hand containing between zero and three coins. Going round in order you have to guess the total number of coins in all the hands. It's actually a pub game.

Quiet thread this week, I hope everyone is doing OK.

Hiya Weekenders

Saou, I’m ok thanks, I’ve been enjoying myself reading all your posts, very entertaining.

I used to think I had to have booze to have a good time, in fact, a good time wasn’t a good time without it!.....how wrong was I!!

I can’t begin to say how happy I am being sober, my only regret, wish I’d never started in the first place.

May be going to cinema tomorrow to see Rocket Man. I like Elton’s music.

Morning all,

I have never watched Game of Thrones either. Many years ago I loved a film called Neverending Story, that's about as much fantasy drama I can take.

I don't actually even have netflix.

Vman hope things with Mrs Vman are all sorted now.

Wow 3 hours on your nails dpac. Glad your pleased with the results.

Glad the bathroom is coming along STDragon.

Giraffe Birth.

I can't watch that video, Kaily. Is it a new local giraffe or an old video? Our zoo posted one of the recent giraffe births on YouTube...they have quite a drop to the ground. Mom doesn't lie down. Oof!

The newest calf at our zoo is doing really well, I saw them yesterday. He is standing much better. I got to talk to the Head Vet of the zoo yesterday. They are really pleased with his progress.

Sober Tuesday. Lots and lots of them in a row. That's the important part, in my experience - In A Row.

I haven't mentioned it in a while but I am on my second sobriety. The first one lasted many years - around 18.

When I started drinking again it was just a matter of time until I was back to the misery and craziness of my twenties - only worse, because the second time I had money and time. It isn't healed by sober time. I didn't even really think about it a whole lot, just picked up a drink one day thinking, "Well, just one." That's why this time I'm making a mindful connection with you guys every day and I cannot have just one. Lest I forget again.

Like the alcoholic brother said in, Call The Midwife, "The drink hates those who love it most."

Tru dat.

A new giraffe Bim , born on May 8th at Chester Zoo. A Rothschild which are a very endangered species. Drop and plop birth as you say.
He was shown on the morning news charging around outside and it made me think of your young giraffe and his problems. Glad to hear he is doing well.

Happy Tuesday everyone! Refreshed and ready to get some work done today.

Kaily - I'm not gonna say 3 hours was worth it cuz it wasn't lol, but I did them while watching the Money in the Bank WWE ppv and had already bought all the stuff so I committed to using it.

Proud of the giraffe and glad he's doing well. Thanks for the update!!

Kaily the new baby giraffe born at our zoo has a Rothschild mother and a Reticulated father. There has been some back and forth over whether the zoo(s) should be permitted to cross-breed. This is the second cross-breed in the past few years. Both the offspring got Dad's coat pattern.

You can see the difference here, this is the calf born in 2017, a female. That's her mother.
