Weekender Thread 5th - 9th July 2018
H&S, I spent a lot of years drinking and being angry because my father died on my 16th birthday and we had had a not-that-great distant relationship. Death of a loved one does weird things. I finally came to peace over his death, but I had to create that peace myself.
More surrender, it seems. He was gone, I had no control of that. All I could do is let it go - with love. I did a little private letting-go ritual, since there had been no funeral and I think I needed that because I felt a great relief afterwards.
Sunday! My favorite day. I'll listen to my online preacher/teacher and probably get to the beach at some point.

I’m very sorry, HealthyandSober.
I had a nice day off yesterday.
I did watch the last half of Russia vs. Croatia yesterday, because my tenant and his family were watching it. My tenant, though Australian, is of Croatian heritage—he vacations at his uncle’s place every summer.
So he was raving like a madman there toward the end!
It was truly very exciting.
I’m sorry, MB. I was really rooting for the hometown boys to win.
Manta, I am so pleased to hear of your turning point!

3 boys out of the caves.....OMG.....the world is not going to take their eyes off this until every single one is out.
Ah. I once was so transfixed by a diver who disappeared in a cave in Florida. The story was reported blow by blow by the rescue divers on ScubaBoard (forum) who attempted to find him in a closed cave system. He was a diver, and he somehow disappeared himself completely. It was never solved, but what a real-life drama! Cadaver dogs, rescue divers, weird little side stories that alleged a faked suicide.
On the same level as Vman (great song from Eddie btw!)....a solo project by a popular rock n' roll frontman...I've shared this on another thread before, but this was one of the songs I heard during my walk yesterday.....Sully Erna from Godsmack partnered with the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation to bring awareness to the opioid epidemic....here is the video ~ Heads-up, it's pretty intense IMO but the song is one of my favorites.
Here is a good link for the Thailand Soccer team rescue. YOu can understand the challenge by reading and looking at the visuals.

I could have sworn I posted earlier, hey ho. It has been another scorcher today, there is talk in the news of hosepipe bans coming into force. Honestly! Three weeks or so without it tipping down with rain and you would think we lived in the Kalahari. The hosepipe ban will not affect me as I live three floors up and only have a few cactus's (cacti?) and a Yukka to water, not very demanding.
I spent several hours at something called a classic car boot sale which is like an ordinary car boot sale but with slightly older junk for sale.

You're right Trach. I'm surprised my keyboard didn't correct me since it tries to override about 70% of what I input.
BTW at work we input new production sheets electronically but still have to take a manual copy to the production area where the real work is done. I ALWAYS whistle the first few bars of "Hi Hoooo..." when I put a new one in the intray. It probably accounts for my continuing unpopularity down there
