there’s only NRL on the box here in far north QLD, I don’t think the QLDers put much store in AFL,
I’m away for the weekend on a training course and the motel is right across the road from a pub and bottlo. I walked over to get some takeaway food and had to leave really fast before I went into the bottle shop. But I’m having another cup of tea and then going to sleep, I’m pretty beat.

I don't remember the last time I ever saw a room with a mini bar. We booked a couple of theme rooms once for my sons 12th birthday. It had a chocolate-bar bar. Cheap trick, the kids piled into the room and grab them all up before us adults knew what was going on. Premium prices too....

I’ve not stayed at the Hilton. Although there are quite a few places around here that have mini bars that aren’t the Hilton. Maybe an Aussie thing perhaps? A lot of Aussies drink a lot.... the last place I stayed with my partner earlier this year had a whole range of different drinks and snacks in the room (at exorbitant prices).
This one thankfully only has tea, coffee and teeny long life milks

Congratulations on 54 days Willow, you're almost home and dry(literally) I do a little travelling for work and most of the hotels I stay in do not have a mini bar, it's one advantage of not being a tycoon I guess.
PhoenixJ many congratulations on graduating from recovery to art school. There are a lot of inspirational people on SR and you are up there with the best of them.
I won't get to see the match this afternoon but Allez France!

I hope everyone makes it through the weekend without a drink. I can guarantee I will. If you're just getting started on a sober life, give it some time. The Addictive Voice is strong in early days, but it fades to a little whimper in a few months. I admit I still have some strong associations with alcohol and hot summer days, but I just dismiss the thoughts every time with a, "Yeah. A drinking thought. I don't drink." ...and it goes away. No bargaining, no attempts at agreeing with it. Just no.
If you're struggling or lurking, jump in. Outting it takes away its power.

Hi Venus.
I was looking for MB as well...the world cup is going to start soon and I don't have my Keeper report.
Off to a good start this weekend. Friday is my weigh in day and I worked so hard this week on multiple things. Lost 2 pounds, so I am feeling committed to all my changes...getting sober being the biggest one! Alcohol pretty much takes away the motivation to do anything but get drunk.
If you are watching soccer, post your thoughts.
