Thanks for support guys, I just have to look at it like we are on the recovery journey together, each with our own "injury ", and we both are going to be fine x

Welcome to the thread Mako and sad sad girl

Went to have a look at a car, a Bitter SC (Austrian built on an Opel platform) Thinking about buying but no decision made yet, it might involve too much work

Here is that lighthouse (not my pic). It is very low as it was built to train lighthouse keepers rather than direct ships. These days it is a gallery

The tidal barrier that LBrain mentioned is the Woolwich Barrier. When built it was only going to be raised once in a blue moon but rising sea levels mean that it is raised several times a year

Glad to see Oscar back, Dee!

He has always been my runaway favorite Muppet.

Julia... It gets better... then it gets harder... then it gets better. Remember the roller coaster? However, I think if you continue with your plan and stick to it, make adjustments as necessary along the way then overall it just keeps getting better and better and better. Are you getting back into your hobbies you talked about awhile ago?

Thanks, Quincy - no, I haven't been spending much time on hobbies - I need to do that - I have let life kinda over run me. I need to refocus and reprioritize.

I got 6 days' worth of neglected reading done, plus 2 mountain's worth of dishes. Just a quick midday surf, then onto a lecture. I hope to get some laundry done tonight, too.

After dinner I might look distractedly at a movie while concentrating on my long-neglected needlework project.

I'd been catatonic for the last few days--it's nice to feel alive.

OK, I had a couple of beers last night but today, although I want to, I am not drinking; normally, by noon on Saturdays, I am well into it.

No drinking. Not today. And I am grateful. Going outside to kick around in the beautiful October sunshine.

Have wonderful day everyone!

Dee, thanks for the awesome post; I hope you are feeling better soon!

I saw my daughter and grandaughters briefly. Major tantrum from the eldest, Chloe all because she had to wear a blue top. Feisty but her mum will not be defeated on such matters

Picking up in the craft room a bit before I head outdoors, I found this little note I wrote one morning not too long ago when I was feeling very low - thought I'd share it with you.

God, guide me today. Beginning*right now as I open my eyes, take all that I am feeling and hold steady the vessel of understanding -*of patience, of*tolerance and right thinking.*
So that I may be peaceful in the way you have set for me, still my mind and open my heart.
Grace me with all that is active in goodness and resting in love. Amen

I think it gets better too Julia - I'm not even sure I'd agree w/ Quincy it gets harder again?

bad things still happen, but my life is now immeasurably more easy than it used to be.

good to see you back jodc - I'm fine now thanks

Julia, it does get better. It is a roller coaster sometimes. It's just life and we accept it and work with what's been given to us. Some times seem harder than others.

Busy run around day for me and this is the first I've had to sit down and I'm going out again to an AA meeting with a friend. I don't have to say anything. I'll just listen. It's a speaker so I'll absorb the message.

U75, good for you. Now I feel guilty about not working on my own kitchen. Two years later and the "punch list" stuff still isn't done.

Mako, I hope your daughter heals quickly. Ouch.

See you all later!
