My obnoxious, smart-aleck oldest son (the apple of my eye who, like me, had to give up alcohol completely) met a really nice girl two weeks before his E-Harmony membership expired.
They've been e-mailing each other every day for two weeks. He took her out on Saturday and they got along just as great in person. They're going out again tonight for pizza.
Interestingly, when she was 20 she was engaged to a guy who seemed normal, but who was exposed to be a drunk and a crack addict. She was crushed when it came to light, and she called off the wedding.
Apparently she is very pleased to know that my son doesn't drink at all.

Gilmer, that's exciting for your son. I hope this works out for them both.
Hawkeye, no pain, no gain? It's a nice goal to have. Good luck on the trail run.
Quincy, I hope you're feeling better today. I used to have a horrible time on Sundays. Always felt really down and out of sorts. It has improved. I try keeping busy. I also tell myself that it is OK that I didn't get everything done that I wanted to.
Back to work. Gloomy weather here.

Good luck to your son and his girlfriend Gilmer, I wish I had been a non or moderate drinker in my 20's, it would have saved myself and others a lot of bother
Unlike Ruby, London is enjoying another superb day weather wise.
Hopefully today I will have reaped some benefit from going in on Saturday as I showed some prospective clients round the factory and offices. I made sure we were as clean as a Sterile Services unit at a hospital and nobody swore or damaged anything while they were there (they would be usually). Fingers crossed for some orders

Unbelievable. I've just seen lightnings and heard thunder.
October thunderstorm. Summer's farewell after a day of unusual warmth.
It's raining now.
I am going to the doc tomorrow to check on my cold.
Have a good day/night, weekenders.

Sao....it's not sad....I think it's the change in weather. I'm going to sleep early tonight too.
gilmer. ...cool about your son. I hope he's met someone nice who appreciates his sobriety.
Midnight blue...I hope you can kick that cold you have. Good to be going to the dr to be on the safe side.
I'm pooped gang......good night. ...see you all in the morning.
