It's Never Too Late Weekender July 22 Part 3
Back from dinner. Had a pretty fantastic burger. Perfectly cooked (medium rare), topped with the sharpest, creamiest cheddar I've ever had on a burger, marinated onions, applewood smoked bacon and a great spicy tangy barbecue sauce. Frickin' delicious. Side of fries and an apple pie milkshake (apple cinnamon ice cream with chunks of apple pie filling and crust). Just fantastic.
Anyway, apparently the maid is pretty freaked out about the building tremors too. She had no idea what causes it, either!
What's all this about strip poker?

I like this song and hardly ever hear it anymore but today I heard it twice!

A Pal of mine knew the Gent who 'invented' the Boring Machines used for U.K. -> France Chunnel. They cut about this diameter below. Impressive Machines.
There's other ways to do this task. In any case, it popped into my Geek Brain that only something like this would intermittently shake your Hotel. This might be felt from quite some distance; depending on Substrata...
From a Tunnel Project Website I found easy peasy...

Dugway Storage Tunnel
This project includes the installation of a 24-ft diameter storage tunnel extending approximately 15,000 ft in length from its connection to the Euclid Creek Tunnel (ECT) at the Nine Mile Site to its terminus near Superior Avenue/ Lakeview Road. The Dugway Storage Tunnel (DST) will be constructed with a tunnel boring machine (TBM) in Chagrin Shale at depths approaching 200 ft below ground level. The DST will also include several consolidation sewers, diversion structures, and drop shafts to capture and store CSO from the DST service area. The diversion systems feeding the drop structures will be equipped with the inflow control gates to manage the dynamic flow within the ECT/DST tunnel system. Salini Impregilo signed a $153 million contract to build the project.'

@Mesa. That's pretty fantastic deductive reasoning. The only think I've been able to compare it to is when I lived in New York and was in a building right over a subway line. The building would shake just like this. The notion that it's some sort of subterranean tremor makes sense.
Anyway, tremors or not, I gotta get some sleep. Night folks. See ya in the new thread.
