Good morning everyone. Shoehorn? Was auto suggestion malfunctioning?

Gorgeous day today. Clear blue sky and mild. I put a corned beef into the crock pot for later.

I went out once for St. Patrick's day. I'm the Scrooge of the day. Bah, humbug. I'll go read PKs explanation

Behan, you are correct sir! Three eighths is the ratio. I have living relatives in Tetra's part of the Republic. In less politically correct times I think people like me were called black Irish, dark hair and swarthy complexion

So my Leprechaun name would be Gassy Eustace O'Dickweed (to be sure)

If I was zero percent Irish it would have made no difference - I would have got smashed today. As it is this is my second sober one

I am sitting outside eating my lunch ( tuna salad) It is sunny but the wind just started up so I am battling to keep everything under control what with posting here and stuff

I knew it was fishing, just didn't know what type. Salt water. I do understand the need for different rigs for different types of fishing. I have one fishing rod/reel. I know it's for regular old lake/panfish fishing, and that it's an open reel, but beyond that, no idea. I keep thinking I'm going to try fly fishing, since we have a class A trout stream running right through town, but haven't done it yet. Maybe this year.

Is there still room on the bus?

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Enjoy your weather, it's almost 10 am here and still so froggy that you can only see about 100 yards.

Stay safe and sober enders.

LB, when I was in the Keys last summer, my captain had Diamond Braid,

Otherwise back home, I use Power Pro fluorocarbon.
I think 20lb test is something like 4 or 6 lb mono diameter.

Prior to these high tech days, Trilene XL was good enough for me.
The XT was very brittle. Forget about Maxima. That stuff would fly off your spool like a coil of bailing wire. Salmon River, NY, 1982;
first cast was my last cast.

Stupid cats. I forgot to put my fresh bread up in the cupboard. They chewed through the bag and got a large area of the top crust chewed up pretty good. My fault for leaving it out, I guess. Still edible, but not very pretty!

I'm on the bus for another sober weekend. I'm off every other Friday, so three-day weekend starts tomorrow.

Sadly, I'm certain there are some bars in North America that are already open today as I type this at 7am West Coast time, and accordingly, many people who are already blotto, or at least well on their way. Oh well, I'm not one of them, so I don't have to worry about it. Have a great weekend everyone!

Smart cats I say.
Well, I had to come back after getting another nasty-gram from verizon. I pay my phone bill every two months whether I like it or not. Decided to set up auto pay - one more thing to forget about.

Got laundry going and getting ready to do the floors and such.

Ruby, I won't be around this weekend - got to get my quota in....

lunar, since the wife is all spendy lately, maybe I can get her to spring for a float trip on the salmon when I get back. Unless you know where to wade with easy access - a place I won't drown and wash up frozen 2 miles downstream... but I don't have a rod for the salmon...

looks like the fog is clearing up here... I might find something to do outside later

Sorry ... it wasn't the cats. I couldn't resist after all the talk last night.

Today I'm working til 5. Then I've got my Thursday night meeting then home to bed. Glad to be sober!

Great to see you Bunny. I've found your posts insightful, supportive and funny.

It's good to be sober.

My lephrechaun red neck name is too gross to repeat. Let's just say the only part that didn't make me want to yack was "Earl."

Thanks for the welcome all!
Looking forward to the weekend. I am going to visit my Dad in Boston. I'm leaving work tomorrow, hitting an AA meeting, then driving into the city. I've got to finish up my 4th step writing this weekend. I'll just be chillin with him and the dog, Eddie. Coffee by the fireplace, writing away etc. We are going to grab dinner Saturday night. Steak! The only time I get to order a steak at a restaurant is when my Dad takes me out Looking forward to that! Sunday we will go to the Palm Sunday mass and then I might meet a friend for a late lunch and then head back down the cape (cape cod).
Have a happy and sober day everyone!
