Good morning everyone!
I'm at work already-having a good day so far.
My experiment about putting the scale away is over. I weighed myself this morning for the first time in a month and I've gained 3lbs. Guess I need to keep track m ore.
Chickchick. .I agree. ..think it through. .

haf killed the thread, I feel better.

I'm messing around with my food diary. Tis the January thing to do around here.

haf, I have a scale that hasn't been out since oh - September? That seems to be my pattern. I'll start back up weighing myself after about three months of food discipline. Weighing myself and logging food at the same time becomes obsessive for me. I tend to do one or the other. Otherwise, pretty soon I'm recording every gram of food, and every tenth of a pound of my weight, and every minute of exercise in an Excel spreadsheet and applying all kinds of special formulas and formatting and highlighting and -- well, you know.

I do use my food scale, tho.

I don't feel well tonight.
Well it's after half 8 at night and nights are always the worst for me. All my dark thoughts start creeping in. The worst things I think about myself.

I can drink liquids like broth, but I've been afraid to because I can't clean out my mouth well. There are two incisions on either side between cheeks and teeth.

I have a headache and can tell I need food, but I waited a few days hoping incisions might heal first. Not sure how long I can hold off now.

Incisions in the mucosal lining in your mouth should heal pretty quickly. I think you should be fine to eat something now if you can and docs agree - just as important for infection avoidance is keeping your body fed so your immune system has the capacity to fight

You are doing far better than I would be soberp

They are ok with me having broth or anything that's a liquid. I guess it scares me. To think I might infect myself.

While on morphine drip in hospital I was drinking broth. I felt so much better right after surgery. I was so happy. I didn't know this was going to be this hard a few days after. But then again, I did. I think what I'm saying here is that the meds made me feel so good I assumed the worst was over at the hodpital, lol. I was high on morphine and just couldn't think straight apparently.

When my brother had his biking accident he used to throw cooked chicken and veggies into the blender with stock and put the whole thing 'down the hatch'

I decided to take Puepleknight's advice and have winding down time. So I'm just out of a warm bath. It did help. My dad is downstairs watching The Social Network and telling me what a crook the guy was

SP, you need to eat.

When I've had dental surgery, there were stitches and I ate the same day. If your doctor says it's okay, it is. Can you have an Ensure, at least? Or four or five of them?

I have two huge boxes of Ensure. It thickens in my mouth and is hard to get down without massively watering it down. I guess I need to try it again.

Ah Ensure always reminds me of my Gran. She was very thin and used to have 2 or 3 of them a day. My aunt who is a doctor was always bossing her and saying that Ensure is supposed to be a supplement in addition to meals and not a replacement for them.

Ah memories...

I hope you feel better soon Soberpotamus x

I hope you can get some sustenance into you SP. Maybe try a little broth to see how you get on?

Junior unsettled all night and all day. Postponed trip to the grandparents.

Brain in a fog today. Just listening to music. Tom Ravenscroft on BBC 6 music is the king o friday night.

Signs?

SP, I can understand the being afraid to eat. You don't want to rip anything, no infections. However, you can't allow yourself to starve while waiting for your mouth to heal. How about broth with garlic and ginger in it? They both have antiseptic qualities to them. Plus it's yummy.

I'm listening to a training course online. It's providing a droning soundtrack to my reading here on SR. So utterly boring.
