My aches and pains... Last night at 930 I was still working in the garage. Told the sis I should have been doing this instead of letting you talk me into driving you to drink. I went out to investigate the critter situation. And they was a whoopin and a hollerin! But nothing in the trap this morning. It's exactly like when I blocked the exit hole. Sent text to critter guy... They're stuck inside the "house'. Hoping to get trailer loaded and hit the road today. Or by 3AM tomorrow.

Good morning, everyone. Last day of vacation and I'm processing a bunch of feelings, very few of which involve Mr. Ruby. And thank you Della.
Mecanix, I'm sending heartfelt sympathy and good thoughts as you go through the grief of losing your aunt.
MLD, being with a drinker while sober truly isn't fun. Their focus is on the alcohol.
My mother called me this morning to say my father went back in the hospital last night. They went to my brother's house after waiting in the emergency room forever at one hospital and called an ambulance which took dad to a different hospital. Actually, a much better hospital. Dad went to the birthday party yesterday and was in good spirits. The doctors said that his kidneys are slowing down. Bile ducts may be blocked. And he was already planning on outpatient gallbladder surgery when this came up. I had planned on a day of cleaning and crying after my mom called but she just called again and I talked to my dad and he's feeling much better. His gallbladder is apparently infected and wreaking havoc on his system. I don't know. I won't drink over it but this up and down is hard. So if you're of a praying disposition, please keep him in your thoughts.

We've laid to rest 4 Parents. Various Circle-of-Friend Members who left us too soon. Somewhat rare Diseases in some. One Gal Pal battled Ovarian Cancer unique to her Genetic Forebears in Israel.
Several Students of my High School Teacher Wife. Killed in Heart-breaking Accidents way too young. Some on Prom Nights.
3 Dogs over the Decades. Our 'Kids'.
As with Sobriety, I suppose, Inner Peace comes to those who work at it. Otherwise, Grief and Loss can - and will - take you down.

Y'all....I just bought the biggest grapes I've ever seen....like unnaturally big! I almost didn't get them because I thought something must be wrong with them but was assured by the produce guy they were fine. You only have to eat four or five of them and your stuffed! (Yes, I'm easily amazed these days).

Feeling good today!
Hello all and I'm here to shout out that I made it through the weekend sober. I feel so much better today and notice an increase in my energy. Well, duh, of course. Happy Monday to all :-)
