Ring Ring! Sober Weekender Thread Aug 14
Half day from work because I had some things to do in town. I treated myself to a spot of lunch: steak sandwich with mushrooms, onions and fries, followed by bannoffee pie with tea, just because I think I'm worth it
Imagine: there was a time in my life when I would have been too afraid to eat out by myself. Look at me, I'm growing up.

*Ring*Ring. My favorite.
In, loved the fawn and the rabbit. I'm glad LB is gone, though. He'd be oiling up his rifle
Zoo day! Laters! (Ruby, enjoy your holiday - I know you will)

Hey gang,
Weird environmental changes earlier, possibly due to the meteor shower. A large, bright ball that radiates heat was visible for a time earlier. The old folks and sailors said we used to call it the sun.
Still in work, very busy as usual, will catch up properly later!!!

I've heard of the sun Behan - always thought of it as fictional though, bit like the Loch Ness Monster.
50mm (2 inches) of rain in 3 hours here earlier. It has stopped now
I have had a couple of phonecalls/emails from work as I have been trying to persuade some of them to go to the Nurbergring in Germany (a race track that is open to the public) Some people are interested it seems (have to be a credit card job as I am skint lol)
What I have not told them is that in 1982/3 I used to live in Dusseldorf and drove the track quite often so I know all the 100 plus bends - that's got to be worth 45+ seconds a lap
It may happen, have to see when I get back to work on Tuesday.
A Stanley Steamer held the steam powered Land Speed Record for over a hundred years, it was only broken a few years ago
