Seldom is a mistake as important as we allow it to be. Always we can
rechart our steps; never is a task completed without some modifications
along the way. Perhaps we'd do well to consider all mistakes as simply
modifications in the original plans. Corrections triggered by mistakes
may well be responsible for better outcomes. In fact, mistakes may be
part of the process necessary to keep our spiritual program focused.
Their role in our lives may be of greater significance than we'd ever
imagined. However, we shouldn't dwell on the mistake but, rather, on
the remedy.

Gooch found this Ted.
You and I can both benefit from this

((((ted & sue)))

The best thing you can do my friend, is work on your sobriety, that above everything else she want's for you. If you work at getting the old sober ted back, you watch, the rest will fall into place. She love's you ted, but we all have limits, so do the best you can to get well. We love you two, it will be okay.

Ted... I'm real glad your back.

Just keep doing whatever it takes not to drink. I miss ya when the bottle takes you walking. You got to take care of you and trust that God'll take care of Sue while your getting better. There aren't any 90 day wonders or 40 year gurus.. all there is is today for any of us, but the ride does get a little more familiar with time.

Hi Ted

Sorry your hurting mate - a few good 24s sober will help no end.

I'm with you on this. There is a girl I know, got to know very well last year in fact when I was sober, who I thought would never speak to me again after my last bender. I won't go into too much detail, but a broken window (my window, I did it), public humiliation and embarrassment, idiotic cellphone text messages .... to give you a flavour. She popped over the other day (as she heard I was sober again and going to meetings - I live in a little place - people know my business before me) and gave me a hug and a kiss and said "I'm so glad you are doing this". I was expecting a kick in the balls - but she explained to me how "different" I am (understatement or what) when I'm drinking.

The point of all this I suppose is that the best thing I have to offer this person, is me sober. I hope to build it from there.

much love (to you both)

JC

Same here Ted. If the wind pushes me that way, I wont resist it. We do what we have to do to get sober and stay sober and become happy again.
