If you could give a newcomer 1 gift you receive from your sobriety, what would it be?
I would show them two alternate universes:
The one of what their life turns into if they keep drinking....
And the one of what their life turns into if they stop drinking, and they stay stopped.

And the one of what their life turns into if they stop drinking, and they stay stopped.

I'd Tell them my Story. I'd let them Know That God Loves them so much and that Jesus paid for all that guilt shame and remorse at the cross so let it go and trust in him cuz he will change your whole life. He Changed mine! That compared to Eternity this life is like a blink of an eye so don't get to worked up over anything. Just trust Him.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Glad to hear that Sunrise. You can do it!
And we know that, because, we ARE doing it and we thought we could not!!
One gift I would give is the courage to trust others.

Hi Jam97,
Thanks so much and i am really lost with words. All i can say is i want to be sober for the rest of my life and be with you lovely family always. I am not a strong person if went back to png without joining this program. I dont think i would get through this but Thanks so much Jam97.

I would give them the gift of being able to sit with discomfort. It passes. It really does. It gets easier, and those moments of discomfort are temporary. Sit with it, let it wash over you and let it lift, without acting.
The ability to forgive. Starting with myself. I'm not allowed to post links yet, but look up a news story on ***** about the Ohio coffee shop that's raising money for a destitute person who stole from their tips jar. Brings the whole point of forgiveness right home.
