I lived on Coca Cola and ice cream my first few years sober. I still have yet to meet a man who has put a budweiser down on top of two chocolate malted milkshakes.

Thanks guys! How is everyone doing? Anyone currently working their steps? I am going back over my step 4 again in lots of detail! I am realizing a lot of things about myself that I had no idea of. Nothing but good things out of all of this! Weekend is over! Going to start this week off with a positive attitude!

Hey Lindsay and ampsmarie, glad to have you here

I was supposed to start work today but it's an "on call" deal and I wasn't needed today. Bummed about that. Also slept through my 4:30AM alarm - wanted to get in a 5AM workout. I can go to the gym now but they told me I'd definitely be called tomorrow and I want to get in the habit of that 4:30AM wake up.

It's freezing here. Time to start bundling up. That's all I got for now.

Have an awesome Monday all!

We're not supposed to link directly to our Facebook page on this website but if anyone wants to be Facebook buddies you can PM me. I won't be able to check this page as much anymore but I can always check my Facebook messages on my phone. If you want to message me that you're struggling or just to shoot the shiz or whatever I'm cool with that. And if you're thinking, "What?! You're a total dork! I don't wanna be your friend," then that's cool too

Off to get my lift on.

I think I did, I am 29 for the 27th time. But you know, women never get older then 29. I wanted to leave this thread to the youngsters, but it keeps going to page 2, and I think this is a really important thread.

I think it is just so great that people in their 20's and 30's realize that alcohol and drugs are not life.

So keep up the good work here. I will make a new list of the youngsters 2moro

I was in detox for 3 and a half months and now in rehab which took the choice away from me initially. Now I get overnight leave one night each weekend which is pretty scary! I did most of my drinking in my flat so I rearranged it and bought a few new things. I'd really recommend that to anyone who drank at home. I've been seeing friends for dinner and going to museums etc to fill my weekends. I didn't want to stop going out completely so when I've gone to parties I've got there early and left after a couple of hours (before people get drunk) or left the moment I felt unsafe.
