Class of March 2013 Part 59
We are adapting, dog and me both. I have been alone post burns-and eventual sobriety since Nov. 2015 and many years b4 burns when boozing. That, plus a truckload of mental health disagnosis- having a living thing is very out of comfort zone. What others, including psychologists etc, consider to be very difficult, dsyfunctional, trama based mental health status, has been my normal. Small steps.
Me and dog are on a steep learning curve.
I wAS offline all last night 'cos the large data, getting online-whatever is the correct jargon, had (another) Australia wide outage. The inner critical voice expressed extreme annoyance. Recovery voice kicks in to remind moi I am not homeless anymore, or being bombed in a war, or infirm in a wheelchair- so just accept, letgo of negative emotions and move on.

PJ - what a beautiful dog! Congratulations. What is it’s name? I don’t know how I could have survived my hardest times without my dogs. Just catching up on posts, so glad to hear things are going well with your sons.
Babs, did you and hubby make a decision on the house?
Toots, how’s the packing going?

Peej she is such a cutie
Duff, I am down at my mums for a week, so an enforced break from all things moving, but I think I'm about on track. I'm also working most of the week after next as a Marshall at the 150th Golf Open at St Andrews which I am really excited about but the timing could have been better!

Glad all is on track, Toots. I hope you enjoy your visit with your mom. And once again I want your life!! Next week sounds like it’s going to be so much fun! You’ll have to tell us all about it, who you run into and meet. Is Tiger playing? He always draws a crowd and I heard they’re expecting quite a big one!
Hi Dee, yes as it stands Tiger is playing. We are expecting crowds of up to 50000 each day. I am working the 10th hole so will pop up on TV ( though probably only my back as I monitor the crowd!)
Dog is quite honestly , a living metaphor for my recovery. I have begun to see the world with gentler eyes. As I treat dog with kindness and mindful patience, some of it applies to self care. The mindful stuff. Also- lots of water, healthy meals, exercise, patience, adapting to new things, rest, moderation, etc. I had to take study leave from Uni art course to deal with depression/anxiety. I started studying at home...a first this year. Also= hard, productive work.
3.5h , 15km, 3 walks...Roxy is knackered. The muzzle harness prevented her attacking 3 silent organisms, which were all silent but dog got supernose. A pigeon in long grass, a rat dog hiding and a cat. Credit to her- well behaved otherwise .See GP first thing tomorrow about status quo- re depression/meds, so an early start. I also got 2h study in.

Very sore back. GP prescribed muscle relaxant not effective. It is day 3 post my jarring impact fall. Worstest day 3. Also took big nose (dog) to a new wetlands space, on the edge the city on the way back from GP. A converted horse racing venue. Every man and his dog were there. Dog got very overstimulated and she lunged at every dog she could see. A few hundred times. She is a cattle dog, all muscle, not an inch of fat. So the lunges again, jarred my arm and my stupid back. Only 2h walkies today. The first walk was at 0630, so Roxy could wizz before 45m drive to doc. I first saw him when I lived a few streets 6y ago when I first got sober. Worth the drive. Ayhow at 0630 it was dark, cold (2 degrees C). Despite wearing gloves, my hands turned purple and they went numb. Doc happy with my mental health progress.
