Class of March 2013 Part 59
DD, I started knitting once and managed to quit smoking for six months ( this was waaaaay before I quit for good!) but doing something with your hands that also takes a little focus may be an idea? Hope the recovery from the surgery goes well.
Babs, anticipation of moving and moving are often stressful times. It’s especially important to take care of yourself. Can you find time to get in some quiet walks? Yoga? Meditation?
DD, you’ve been throwing away a number of crutches. Have you found any healthy substitutes?

Sorry to be here with bad news again.
again.
Monday when i got home from work, Nature Boy wouldn't eat. He's done that before so I didn't think much about it.
Tuesday when I woke up he was very lethargic, wouldn't eat or drink, but I had to go in and work a long shift again. When I got home he still wasn't right.
I put him in bed and went to bed myself, if he wasn't better this morning I was going to get him to the vet. I just had him there Thursday and he got a clean bill of health.
I woke up this morning and he wasn't in bed, I looked on the couch he usually sleeps on in the day and he wasn't there.
I looked outside and found him on the deck, he had vomited and passed away.
This is the first dog I've ever had that simply died at home, all the others throughout my life except for Jezebel and Velvet I had to put down and at least I had the chance to say goodbye.
. Today was so much harder.

Ken - I'm so sorry about your dog. RIP Nature Boy.
Babs - congrats on the apartment. Moving always sucks but it's always a chance at a new beginning.
Sass - the only thing I've gotten rid of is vaping. I just split getting off nicotine (physical dependence) and the vaporizer (mental dependence) at different times. I'm 40 days clean from nicotine and haven't used a vaporizer in 11 days. I've actually been using my son's "popper" toys for stress relief. It's basically a fidget device to keep my hands busy.

Was at a family wedding last weekend. I made the sad decision not to bring my kids because of all of the drinking. Mind blowing drinking. Not a problem for me, not that it’s fun to be around, but nothing I want my kids around. My nephew’s wife confided that she left their daughter home for the same reason. Makes me sad and worried for certain family members.
Sad for you about the wedding, happy you were no longer one of the imbibers. It's hard to see a family member or close friend go down a road we travelled enough of to know the pitfalls and of how hard it is to change to a better path.
