Hi Everyone! This is my daughter's cat , Patty, that we just "adopted" because my daughter has gone to Chicago for a summer internship. My husband made the perch for her to birdwatch. Hope everyone is well. Just trying to ignore my PAWS symptoms here and keep busy.

Doing pretty well here, though the warm weather is bringing on its own new temptations. I guess I just have to keep swimming and stay dry!

Know we are a small crew now, but diamonds every one. Maybe all busy just polishing off those rough edges??. 😂
Elly - warmer weather sounds good, but yes I imagine it brings out a different form of challenge. Know you can deal, tho. Xx
CBS - kitty is beautiful and I love the perch. Glad you are able to see and be grateful for small things, even as you battle with PAWS stuff. All helps
Zura - sorry you had to carry us for so long. Hope you are doing okay and enjoying sober life.

As you may already be able to tell, I am feeling about a thousand times better. Apparently this is how this program works. And it is kind of extraordinary. 😱🤣 After decades of struggle and truck loads of secret shame/blame/guilt that I have now named to another person and let go , I am finally starting to see, feel and accept that maybe - just maybe - not all of it was my fault. Simple , yet totally transforming.
This week , I have been able to do my job without the personal turmoil/agony that has characterised it increasingly after I tried to get sober. Without the rawness. Without ending up sitting on ground in the carpark.
And yesterday after 2.5 years of rolling 3 month or 6 month contracts in my current role , they made me permanent staff. 😱 someone trying to tell me something there. 😂😂
Today I am 75 days sober. The most days I have managed without a lapse since I began this journey last October. And I do actually feel grateful to be sober.
Thanks to you all for walking the road together. So much 🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️

Good morning everybody. Tanky congrats on your job news. And you sound like you’re doing great. That is wonderful. Zura I’m glad you are well. Elly I love the keep swimming while staying dry reference. Venus my husband is very handy and I am so grateful.
I got to play tennis last night which was great. Still a little rusty after taking a long break because of the pandemic. But it’s so good to get out there and run around and have fun. Surprisingly my balance/dizziness isn’t hurting my game too much.
Going to the beach for a week tomorrow. I always find the ocean very healing. I usually sleep well when I’m down there. 140 days sober today. I hope everybody has a great weekend.

CBS -- glad the tennis went well. Hope you start feeling better soon! Enjoy the beach! We've been visiting it more often these last few months... along with 1/2 of Northern California, it seems some days.
Pretty quiet here. Got a pedicure yesterday for the first time in a very long time. It's easier now that I have had my first jab and COVID cases are at an all time low. I am trying to stay positive about what we all can do now and not look so much at what we can't yet do. There will definitely be a window of opportunity this summer, though, and I am figuring out how to take full advantage of it.
Still struggling with my mood, I am afraid. Need to start practicing gratitude again.

I hope your mood has improved Elly, it's a bit tricky to get out of a funk sometimes ❤️ gratitude sounds a good plan.
Nothing new around here, just the usual household tasks, working and gardening. SO much to do! I hope everyone is well 😊
