Mags

My brother called yesterday to say that Mom got moved to a different room. The one she was in was okay, but some of the other residents there were a handful. One guy kept coming into her room and taking things. Her new unit is much quieter.

Have a Thunderous Thursday, overs!

Hiya Overs

FBL, that’s awful someone taking stuff from your mum’s room. I’m pleased they’ve moved her to a quieter unit.

Thanks for the well wishes. I’m back home now. I had 4 injections of Omalizumab instead of 1, they said because of high tryptase and mast cells in my blood, too. I’m like a pin cushion. had to wait two hours in case of any side effects. All seems ok up to now, except for sore arms, I can deal with that.

Mags, sending huge *hugs* and hope the injections help a lot!

FBL, glad they moved your mom. Even though we have all single apartments and rooms here (except for couples, of course), once in awhile there is someone who wanders and takes things. It is very rare but does happen. I keep my door locked but this is the “independent” living side of the complex.

It’s snowing here, not much so far.

Have a terrific Thursday!

Morning Overs

Sassy, thanks, ’s for you and sassykitty xx

I’m ok and happy this morning. Probably because I’ve had no adverse effects from the injections. YaaaY.

It’s cold here this morning, the moon had a white had around it.

Have a Good Friday my dear friends xxxx

That's what I was wondering Mags!

When my MIL was in hospital recovering from a stroke, there was as a dear little old lady with dementia. She was like a magpie, would walk around the other beds and take whatever coughs her eye. The ward aides would then raid her bedside unit and return everything to their proper owners!

Glad your jabbings were not too much of a physical burden Mags.
I cannot isolate the image- as it produces prices....true enough, used to teach nursing students this way...

Morning Overs

PJ, you are funny

toots, I hope your decorating is going well. And all ratty signs have gone!

Andy, toots, I’m seeing the specialist towards the end of the month. They’ll take tests as usual to see if my levels are evened out. But they said they’ll try it for six months, if no improvement they have another type. The one they’re giving me now is Omalizumab. Which works on the allergic reactions I’m having too, hopefully.

Though the asthma was bad yesterday, so it takes it’s time to start working.
I spoke too soon yesterday, my good mood didn’t last! I was Mrs. grumpy and restless most of the day. I’m not sure if it was the effects of the injections or just me. I’m not usually restless, I’m pretty much chilled nowadays. That’s how I used to be in my drinking days, restless (not grumpy), not a good feeling.
Hopefully it will pass. (Absolutely no thoughts of picking up!)

Have a good weekend my friends. xx

Mags, a bunch of poison sachets went the first couple days then nothing since. My plumber removed the toilet and found a huge hole the size of a grapefruit in the out pipe (concertina'd white plastic) so he's looking into a sturdier pipe. As I wasn't using that bathroom anyway - I don't share with rats- he's taking a couple
of days to look for the right one. The decorating I was meant to be doing turned out o be a bigger job, I had to cut back loose plaster and replaster - I'm absolutely not a plasterer! And wait for it to dry to sand it and skim it then sand again. In the meantime, I painted the window railings, as we'd had the front painted which made them look even tattier! It's been a frustrating trip so far but with some small victories. I am just so relieved it was me and not any of our families that had come across and found Basil et al! (I don't think hubby would have coped near so well bless him! And my daughter would have been on the next flight back never to return!)

Agreed, Purpl!

It’s cold here today - good weather to stay in and snuggle under the blankets.

Mags, I am thinking of you and hoping the injections will start helping :hugs:

Hi to all and have a good one

Well, we got about 4 inches of snow overnight. Enough to make the roads a bit tricky, but just have to slow down a bit. I had to park across the street, as the plow guy just arrived and is clearing the parking lot as I post.

Have a wonderful weekend, overs!

It was cold enough for snow here too this morning, but the sun came out this afternoon, was a cold but lovely day. It’s dark now.

Toots! Crikey, you’ve had some mishaps but like you say, victories too! There was a time I would’ve run a mile from a rat or even a itsy bitsy field mouse but my cats went through a stage of bringing me a live mouse (no rats though ) for me to catch...I think I’d still not brave a rat though....I read ‘The Rats’ by James Herbert when I was younger...couldn’t sleep for weeks. Scarred me for life.

Thanks for your well wishes. I’m ok, my restlessness and moodiness have passed, I’m pleased to say. I hate feeling that way. I think it may take a while for the injections to start working maybe.

I used to live at a place that had a resident outdoor kitty ~ feral but extremely friendly ~ everyone called him Snowball....he was so sweet....one day I walked out the door and there was a dead mouse on the doorstep....he pranced along all proud like he brought me a present!
