Morning Overs

Itchy, us english are driving on wrong side of road? that’s why I get horns honked and angry waves.

I think it’s great being an older student. Mr. Mags talked about us learning another language. We both had french lessons at school so thought we may brush up on that.

A lovely sunny day here, it’s here for the weekend I think.

Have a good weekend my friends xxxx

The eye saga continues...

The retina surgeon took a scan and confirmed the swelling in the back of my eye. He wants to keep me on the steroid drops for another 3 weeks, then will see if they have been effective. If not, then it's most likely a steroid shot directly into the eyeball. So, it's more drops for now. Thankfully, there is no pain involved, just some slightly blurred vision.

Star, I was also in elementary school in the 1970s, learning the soon-to-come metric system. Some 40+ years and still waiting!

Have a great weekend, overs!

Nice to see lots of posts!

Welcome to the Overs, Trachy and congrats on your one-year chip

Itchy, good to have you back posting again . I’m betting that those folks who were so unreasonable weren’t going to buy anyway. When the right buyer comes along, you will sell it - unfortunately we can’t predict when that will be!

IP, good to hear you are doing well.

I sporadically got more education over most of my life. I started college at the usual time but didn’t graduate until the week before my daughter graduated from high school. Then I got a master’s degree when I was 53. Still go to lectures and can take old folks’ classes whenever I want.

FBL, good luck with the eye!

Hi to all and have a good Saturday

Quiet one here too Andy. The biggest news is 4 channels on my TV have just vanished- retuned it, just gone....so that is 4 channels of crap I do not have access to any more.

The latest 'reality TV' show being advertised coming is one where the guy or gal- targets one person out of a group then after an hour proposes to them, and they get married. These people must be fame hungry, getting paid a lot or are just stupid.

PJ, I am betting on all three at the same time

Andy, same here - quiet, coffee and oh my - it’s still mostly dark at 6 am. When did that happen!

Have a good Monday to all.

Thank you for all the well wishes. I'm really putting my "letting go" techniques to good practice and whatever happens, I'll know it was meant to be.

I haven't been to a card show in quite awhile, so I'll be going to one later this morning. I'm working on the final 20 cards for my 1972 Topps Baseball set. These are the tougher "high numbers" that were produced in smaller quantities. Am hoping to at least knock a few off my list.

Have a Super Sunday, overs!

Hiya Overs

FBL, hope you found the soccer cards you was wanting.

Sassy, the dark mornings just snuck upon us! I guess the nights will be pulling in too, soon.

Had a very lazy day trying to do my best to get rid of this headache, which has just about gone leaving a dull ache I can cope with.

I was going to cinema to watch Downton Abbey movie, but had to reschedule. I’m sure it’ll be worth waiting for. I here Maggie Smith is marvellous in it. I loved her in Lady in the Van movie.

Well I hope everyone has enjoyed the weekend.

See you tomorrow, my friends. xxxx

Good morning Overs.

Mags, I'll go with stupid. Reality TV appears to be an oxymoron with emphasis on the moron.

Between us, we are currently looking after three cats. I'm looking after my parents cat and my eldest daughter is looking after two for a neighbour.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning Overs

A thick head this morning but I can cope with it, hope it’s just the remnants of the horrible one over the weekend.

You know when I was drinking I woke up most mornings feeling rough and the thing what kept me going was paracetamol and planning my next drink. How sad. Oh and I would’ve kept my headache to myself. I wouldn’t want any comments that made me feel uneasy.

Well it’s cerainly autumnal outside today. The cats went out but came in pretty sharpish.

My sister has gone to Fife, Scotland for a few days holiday, I hope the weather is better for them there.

Time for another cuppa.

Have a mellow Monday my friends. xxxx

Andy, I don’t get reality tv, I really don’t.

I wish I had a reliable neighbour (who loves cats) to take care of mine if we went away for a day or two!

Peej, that reality show is making a mockery of marriage, how sad it is reduced to something so pathetic to get viewing figures. What next? Do we follow the couple to their inevitable divorce?!

Mags I hope you are feeling better. Where in Fife is your sister? That's just across the bridge from me!

FBL did you find any cards, I'm glad you are able to leave everything in the hands of the fates. I hope they smile down on you and make your eye better.

Andy I totally agree about 'reality tv' but it certainly hold appeal for a lot of folk. Strange how they would rather watch 'reality tv' but sit on their phones rather than interact with 'real people' in 'real life' perhaps if we put credits at the end of every day they might be more inclined to participate!

Fingers crossed for you Itchy.

Yes toots- that is the goal of this sort of TV...to shock, to get headlines when a participant goes into meltdown. I know these shows have a scripted method- they have a goal, they want the ratings.

I would run a mile if offered such a gig.

I’m not fond of reality TV either. The first season or two of Big Brother was a novelty and not too horrible but then it went way downhill. Same for Survivor. I no longer watch any of them.

FBL, did you find any cards you wanted?

Mags, Downton Abbey will start showing here at the end of this week and I intend to go :-)

Itchy, any nibbles?

Have a good day to all!

The card show was packed! I found 8 of the 20 cards on my want list. More importantly, I got caught up with my fellow collector friends.

Have a Magnificent Monday, overs!

Toots, ooh sorry, I just checked my sisters message and I’m mistaken, she’s in Dumfries not Fife, me and geography don’t mix!
