One Year & Over Part 70
Morning Overs
Saturday morning and we’re visiting the in-laws later. Fil has sent for an indoor aerial and we’re interested to see if it works well. Do you remember indoor aerials years ago? You had to move all over the place with the antenna to get a signal. Then it was usually stood on a chair with the thing on your head! :rolmao:
Hope everyone is well. xx

Mags- my whole burns experience has been surreal. My fried bod - images shown at International conferences (before and after) where the specialist who saved my life gets standing ovations, when at the same time I was living in a place run by a gun wielding drug dealer who was a very nasty piece of work. I must add the Unit was extraordinarily support of me at that tine- giving me gift cards to buy food, taxi vouchers, high protein drinks by the dozen....
Going to the Burns Unit was like being in a different reality. Surreal became my normal. Now I am verging on just being on the fringes of normal....well????perhaps....my experiences and life probably dictates I will never fit into the schematic definition of 'normal' (whatever it may be).
As to exhib- it is there. I am not. It is there for closure, to share my story and how the Unit, how art helped me heal. Not to sell, or invoke any responses..I do not expect any, BUT I am glad it is up.

PJ, I see the burns unit as a welcoming island in what was a turbulent sea for you. I think you’ve moved to the calm, peaceful waters now.
I think our past experiences (and you’ve had your fair share) can help us move forward, with the knowledge that that’s the way for us, never to return. (the bigger gap I can put between me and that drunk that I was, is good for me)
And as for being normal. normal is what is right for you.
Personally, I see you fit in excellently on SR with all you speak with.
You future looks good John.
One day at a time in our precious present.
You’re a shining star my friend.

PJ, I agree with the others! I am happy to hear your sons are at least communicating a bit. It’s a good start.
My special mantra is “I am who I am because of what I have been through, not in spite of it”. It helps me accept all that has happened in my life.
Have a lovely day, Overs

PJ, most of the time we really have no idea how much we are helping others, just by our example. You are an inspiration to me for sure!
Been super busy lately. With work, online meetings and my various hobbies, I often wonder how I ever found so much time for drinking!
Have a Super Sunday, overs!

Thankyou humans. I think we all hold us all up. I canna do this alone Cap'tn!
My soreness faded to bearable (for whatever the hell reason- I think it is like my nervous system is not connected up right since frying) so I went out into my little back yard to winnow out all the crappy stuff, broken or brittle plant, pots and my outside art humpy (a lean-to made of recycled bamboo from the art school and shade cloth). I was transporting an old plant pot, a big one used as a bin and it fell apart in my hands- smashing the jar of old green acrylic paint onto the concrete- and in the process onto my lower-than-me little Greek neighbour's plants. So I spent the first hour of my spring clean (as it is here) washing green out. I took back 21 months worth of fizzy drink bottles to a recycle(10 cents a bottle refund) and got a whole $22. Every penny counts (no pennies, but).
