One Year & Over Part 66
Thanks for all the kind words of support. Just a quick update. The eye is coming along very slowly. My next check up is this coming Friday. Getting lots of R&R, which is something I really needed anyway. I can read and watch a little TV, so I'm not going totally stir crazy. Will be back to work on Monday, but the boss knows I have to take it VERY easy for the next couple of weeks at least. So grateful for my recovery and ALL of you!
SO glad you are alright love.....I was just this second thinking about you....well since I got up actually....very very glad you will recover well. Huge hugs and sorry, my brain is not in gear yet today so I am unable to think in English right now.
Where is that hebrew font....

Andy, sorry your son got hurt while trying to be helpful!
FBL, good to hear that you are coming along and especially happy that it was caught in time.
It’s a cold, sunny, beautiful Saturday morning here on the coast.
Have a good one, Overs.

Thanks all! Been busy but did read to keep up with y'all.
FBL,
Yeah eye surgery recovery is a month or two at minimum. But your situation may take more. You've earned some recovery green stamps. Take care from yourself.
Sassy,
Hope you enjoy the cruise. It sounds fun. I've been up to Madawasca on the East coast of Canada, and all over B.C. and The Yukon, some Alberta (Banff/Jasper Ice field/Lake Louise) RVing to, and from, Alaska in 1999. I always wanted to see Canada's East coast.
Andy,
Sounds like you've a budding policeman in the family. I'm just glad your son's OK.
Suze,
The airlines are sorry! But I knew that going in.
Mags,
Yes, got caught up on sleep. But have been humping and bumping all week.
Well, we had engineers inspect the place at my expense and refused the contract without $2500.00 reduction in price for those repairs as long as they have the furnace inspected and repaired/adjusted.
They agreed so we close next week. Great strides in title services since we bought this place in 2003.
PJ,
I went in three hours early Tuesday because my room checkout was 12 noon and my flight wasn't until 4:30. I spent that time in the USO lounge in the airport. Met some other retirees and told lies and stories with snacks and drinks courtesy of the USO. They provide services for military active and retired. It was very enjoyable. Much better than the sky lounges that are just bars. Did I mention I don't drink alcohol?
Although I'm not a Marine, Air Force teaches the same things in different words. Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome. https://modernsurvivalblog.com/lesso...-preparedness/
You could use it in the Serenity Prayer:
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
To improvise, adapt, and overcome the things I can . . .
Night all.

Andy I hope your son is ok both physically and emotionally after the confrontation, am I right he is on the autism scale? If so I hope this doesn't put him off ever stepping in again, as too many people turn a blind eye rather than confront bullies. Give him a special healing Toots hug.
Love that quote Andy, and the 'misuse' rather than 'waste' makes it really stand out and makes you think.
I hope you feel the fog lift soon.
FG, glad you are enjoying the job

Morning Overs
All quiet here, still dark, then again it’s only nearly 4am.
We bought an ‘Echo - Alexa’ thingy a few months ago. I’ve now put light bulbs in the living room and bedroom that can be operated by a few words to Alexa. How lazy and crazy is that! I know this is not groundbreaking technology, but for me, I love it! I can operate them by an app too, if I’m out and want to switch a light on..........Now what else can I add to my new toy?
Have a good Monday my friends

Andy,
Perfect quote. Sorry you're having a rough week, as is your son. Teaching kids that violence is always wrong, but that they have to stand up for themselves puts kids and parents in a double bind. All you can do is muddle through. I hope your son is doing well.
Sassy,
Thanks, today I whupped Mr zero turn mower's butt by rebuilding the deck and changing the blades. It's ready to get the yard in sales curb appeal shape. I lost ten pounds in the two weeks I was there! I realized today I can still get down on a creeper and cut off some nuts. I had to grind off two nuts to replace the deck guard.
Mags!
I love it too. I'm glad you're not retiring your child-like sense of wonder. It's contagious!
It's too wet here to get any cutting done. It really looks bad this time every year. I'm calling the movers next week if I can get my tools sorted for sell and pack. I won't have a workshop, just a little shed, basement and garage. So the big compressor and half our nail guns go, we'll keep the small pancake compressor and the air tools. Of course all of our Ryobi 18v battery tools and hand tools. Mine are all Snap on and Craftsman. We're keeping the Rigid Contractors folding 10" table saw and the Dewalt 12" Compound miter saw. We've a slew of routers and zip saws etc. They'll tuck out of the way on shelves. Booooring.
We are so happy we are finally leaving the heat and humidity. 61 degrees today and sunny so the workshop was nice and warm. But dry and four seasons wins by a mile.
