Thanks Andy! I am whupped! I feel like I've been rode hard and put up wet. Did your in law trip go well? I came down with a cold so took a room in a hotel next to the airport, ostensibly to keep the wonderful grand-kids from getting it too.

Actually had a 50 car pile up a couple of days ago in a snow storm that was light, and today, as forecast, a really big storm hit and I am snug with free breakfasts and WiFi.

Mags, We've owned about every kind of abode here, and rented or were in Gov't townhouses in Germany and in many places like Bogota, and toured the North American Continent for seven years. Now we want close in, and neighbors are OK. You have to remember we retired to full time when I was 45-52. Now I am 67 in May and the years of military life have taken their toll. Back and neck OK but not strong. I need hearing aids and have been putting them off until we get settled in here. (Any hearing aid advice appreciated.) The altitude makes one wheeze like an old man until we acclimate. Did that when we first came here too. 30-60 days and our bodies will make more RBCs and keep the ratio high.

Thanks PJ,
Some of your favorite colors. I've never seen any metal and cedar fence done that way before. I just realized I have as sunburn too! In winter. I forgot to hat up on the sunny days which have been most days with two snow days.

Thanks FBL! We're thrilled.

Thanks Sassy! I hope your back issues get resolved too. On thast cruise, just don't try Cuba now.

CK,
Good info.

IP! Long time no see! I am glad to see your studies progress. Relationships can be a bear until you find a soulmate. But keep looking and never settle. You will prevail. You are someone's hidden gem who is looking for you. I am proud for you in your sobriety.

Well gotta check emails I haven't done in a week. Then bed. I reversed my days back to normal hours. I get up at sixish now, bed ~ 10pm.

Morning Overs

Itchy pleased you were able to get a hotel, you’re very thoughtful to your family. Talking of hearing aids, I have no recommendations but..... I remember an SR member having one which could be linked to smartphone, sounded super duper! (You might be able to search for it on SR, and get more details).
I remember you’ve been retired for a good while and long may it last, and I can understand your move to having neighbours. Life is good my friend.

Sassy, thinking of you on your appointment

It’s just gone 4.30 am here in U.K. still dark, sadly, but roll on a few weeks and it will be light at this time.

Have a good Monday, my friends.

Good morning Overs.

Mags I tried watching an episode on youtube but it's too dated. The murder victim's girlfriend was obvious innocent because ;- "When did a woman hit her target with every bullet?"

Have a good day everyone.

Wow they must have a big release planned from prisons for all those poor innocent women wrongly convicted! I was actually a better shot than my exh and he was army trained!

IP, you mit attract these men, but you are getting good at recognising it and letting go for your own sake. You have to sift a lot of coal to find a diamond!

CK, meet Sass from the he ship and show her your town! Having met the lovely lady myself a few years ago, I can tell you you won't regret it!

Sass, say hi to my rellies in NS, I have several cousins there.

Itchy great news on the house. I barely got to settle before having to head south for my folks, but when I go home this week, I'll probably be taking my fur baby to see her new home for the first time!

Itchy, i’ll pM you with more detailed info on my hearing aids. Believe it or not, I love them! New technology that greatly reduces the problem of noise in restaurants overwhelming them. Mine wirelessly connect with my phone and TV so that is great. H*llishly expensive is the big downside. I can switch between regular and rechargeable batteries with no alteration if I feel like it.

Have a good Monday, Overs.

I just broke up with someone who turned out to be kind of emotionally abusive. I keep attracting these types of people. It's been very hard being in this relationship, but I ended up breaking it off a couple days ago and am proud of myself. Sad right now but also feel good about it. Just a bit lonely so am very glad to have you all here to turn to.
Congrats on the new house Itchy!!!!!
Sassy the cruise sounds cool! And cold!!!!! Kidding, that will be a lovely time to travel. PEI is so nice, you will love it.
So glad your studies and writing is going so well love....

Sorry about the breakup....hmm.....a close friend of mine showed me that I was choosing a type of man that was well, wrong for me....I didn't even see it until she pointed it out....and after that I consciously changed my ideas re the type of man I was looking for. And I put that out into the universe, and I believed it would happen for me.

And it did. And it will for you too love. ♥♥

I am trying to put those positive vibes out there
Itchy please remind me where you have settled? You sound very cozy but yipes that weather....

Ok.....man or woman, I still think it applies...tell the universe what makes you happy in a partner....maybe even write it down.....then cut it up into a zillion pieces and put it in a jar.....and release it like confetti into the air or somewhere that is special for you.....

Hi overs!
Nice hotel and staff here but boring. Too cold to go out with no car. This area has only hotels for the airport so a car is necessary. I am prepared and bought several microwaveable frozen dinners, a box of tissues impregnated with aloe and lotion, a bag of cherry/menthol cough drops, and a 12 pack of Ginger Ale, and a bottle of Mucinex. I have full cable TV, a computer, a smart phone, and 24 more hours until I infect a plane full of innocent people who were not responsible! (The grandkids did it with help from their daycare! They were already exposed/had it already so just brought it home as a present for grandpa. ) I imagine we will have some issues with the altitude acclimatization in addition to organisms in air/water/food we are not accustomed to encountering. I had similar cold symptom-like issues with beer born illness the morning after our one and only pub crawl in 1996.

Mags,
Yes Sassy sent me an email long ago and I forgot too. I think the UK does it on Sunday, March 10 (in 20 days) and falls back this year on Sunday, November 3. Is that right or do you across the pond have a different date for time change to DST?

Andy,
I was a professional military and civilian weapon instructor and gunsmith for the last 20 years of my career. I taught my very petite 5'2" wife to shoot my Colt Model 70 .45 automatic pistol and she outshot me with my own gun! You're right, that is outdated.

Toots,
Glad you got settled first. I hope your visit goes well however it goes. I am flying home to finish our packing and getting rid of a lot of stuff. Then she will drive up with our pup Maggie. to receive the shipment and begin organizing while I stay down there and sell or give away the rest, groom the yard when dry enough, then sell the property. So we may be apart for a few months. The upside is we are retired military and married 46 years so no challenge. The downside is I am accustomed to her spoiling me and vice versa. I don't do well without a woman's supervision. She does well either way. And has loaded pistols and shotguns all over the place. As well as video cameras on all sides and driveway alerts front and back. She had a lady trespass on our property to turn around and got stuck last week and she saw her on the Ring system when she approached the house after dark, so she answered with a .40 cal 15 shot behind her back. Once she found the lady was no threat , she showed it and told her that had she been up to no good, she would have been shot. So she called for help and I saw her on the video system from a motion detection alert on my phone in Colorado. I told her she was trespassing and she was confused until she realized I was coming from the doorbell and explained that she was waiting for help and my wife came back and explained I was just making sure all was well. Most new security cameras come with microphones and speakers to talk to folks at the door. Handy when you live in the country or city.

Sassy,
Thanks again. Guys she already sent the information to me. Sassy, priceless info.

IP,
I'm not settled, haven't even finished packing and selling the old house and things we won't need like a full size tractor, a riding mower, and a zero turn 50" mower. We bought in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The weather there is very changeable because it is at 7500 feet altitude right up against the front range with spectacular views from our house. The weather is great and the dry climate agrees with us. Especially after the heat and humidity in Louisiana.

Have a great evening or morning, whichever your time zone permits!

I forgot to mention Mrs Itchy was also a Police officer and Deputy City Marshall, as well as shooting with me and our two boys. She used to hunt back in the 70s, but the only thing she hunts now are sales and bargains. Any intruder is toast.

Morning Overs

Itchy, I could do with some of Mrs Itchy’s skills! It’s a concern of mine that nowadays I couldn’t defend myself against robbers or intruders, I can’t run (health reasons and so annoying as I used to run for fun!) and I can’t fight, my only defence is being aware (I don’t live in fear, but I am always aware) and keeping doors locked.
I’d Also like some security cameras which my husband doesn’t seem bothered about putting up. It may be because it is very quiet here and not a lot of crime ventures into our village. The security door bell are advertised all over the place here, they’re a good thing. I’m sure I’ll get him to come round to my way of thinking, especially if I’m on my own ever, which I am occasionally.

DST is 31 March and 27 October in U.K.

I smiled about you infecting your fellow passengers on the plane. So many people get sore throats and colds from travelling on them!

Sassy, hope your appointment went well.

Have a good Tuesday my friends.

I've been a little concerned the past couple of days. My right eye has suddenly gotten blurry and there's a little bit of blockage in my peripheral vision. I almost went to urgent care yesterday, but it got to be too late, so thought I'd see if a night's rest would help, but it didn't. Anything medical, especially with my eyes, freaks me out as I depend on them for my work. I'm trying my best not to use Dr. Google, but I think I really need to get an eye exam today, if possible. If I can't get in to a regular eye doctor, I think I'll go to urgent care. Wish me luck!

Good luck FBL, it’s always a concern with our eyes, do you think you may need new strength glasses? Whatever the cause, I hope they get your eye sorted pronto. ’s

Any intruder is toast.....I LOVE Mrs Itchy.....but I had a funny thought....

....what if the intruder came bursting in with a View Your Deal tshirt and bells ringing....how would Mrs Itchy decide what to do....destroy or shop....what a conundrum.

I know, I am a goose.

Me too....it is my biggest fear on the planet to be honest.

Hope you are at Urgent Care already....sounds like you are going to have to go to an eye specialist love....they will do drops and see if you have something that needs continual drops or a small procedure.

I believe it will be alright though....I know not a doctor but massive experience with this as a carer. Please let us know love.
