I'm committing for the month of December 2018!!
I'm determined to finish out 2018 sober. I have so much to look forward to in 2019 and I don't want to screw it up-
1. My daughter will graduate from high school
2. My recently announced promotion at work takes effect 1/1/19
3. My son will start his Senior year in High School in the fall
4. I will turn 44 in June
5. Our entire extended family (about 12 of us) will go on a week family vacation together right before our families' first grandchild (my daughter) leaves for college.
I want this.....like I've never wanted or needed it before. So glad I'm journeying with all of you!!

Congrats Cando24
Keep up the hard work Cando24! You have some ups and downs in front of you, but I think overall it can only get better than going through those first few days of detoxing.
Like your name says you CANDO 24 hours at a time.

Hi, would like to join if I may? Been on downward spiral for last few months after 3 months sober from Dec 17 til March this year. Felt great, was actually living my life until I thought I could be a social drinker. Ha ha!
The last few weeks been a mess. Drinking to feel 'normal' again. Staying in bed as only time I don't feel sick or am sick. So hard to stop but if I don't, I will be dead.
Thank you for being here.x

It's funny. Part of me is thinking, "it's December already?" and the other part is thinking, "it's still 2018?" It's either too fast or too slow, I swear.
Tonight will be a sort of test. Getting together with some friends for the Tyson Fury/Deontay Wilder fight. These are friends that i'd usually get very drunk around (note, not drunk WITH, but drunk AROUND), so it will be nice for them to see me in a better way. The AV did suggest a couple of beers just to loosen up. But I won't. It's never just a couple of beers. I've got too much going on.
Welcome to all of the newcomers!

Hi all, chiming in with my December 2017 classmate ChloeRose to say, you CAN do this, and there is no better time than December. I quit drinking on 12/18 of last year, and I would be hard pressed to identify an area of my life that is not vastly improved: I've regained my self-confidence, lost weight, and I'm seeing things clearly for the first time in forever. Go Decembers, it's not always easy but it's totally worth it!
