One Year & Over Part 61
Andy, been there, done that, go here first for the things you should not do following some good suggestions: https://www.wikihow.com/Scratch-Under-Your-Cast

Mags,
Yeah there was as lot that the aura of the old British Leyland cars. My AF roomie when I had my Midget on my first tour and single had an Austin Healy 3000 roadster with the electric overdrive switch on the dash.
Dee,
I figured you'd be familiar with the cars in Oz. I looked it up after PJs explanation for why they reminded me of GM muscle cars of the 60s, my car building era.
Suze,
That first car pic of yours was great! They are like Hollywood redesigned cars for movies to hide the brand. They don't quite look right.
I have yet to restore all the contents of my drive I just have been using my Surface tablets but I scanned all my car pics from the oldest and stock to my custom restorations of Hot VWs, a thing, Karmann Ghias convertibles, Beetle convertibles, 8 Superstock VW buses 6 of which were Westphalia fully equipped pop top camper vans. One Eurovan. Also about 20 VW beetles and two of them were Super Beetles. I also did one VW Thing, a VW Notchback, a VW Squareback, and a VW fastback. That in addition to the Porsche 911 Targa with a similar air cooled motor. I would have loved to have seen those guys close up. I also did a 64 Chevy II Nova and my best friend totaled it just before we were planning to drop an SS 396 engine that a friend took out to put a 427 in his SS Chevelle. Here is one like it but mine was two tone with a white top over turquoise body. This is close:
I did a Corvair Monza and used the seats from a Rover TC 2000 of the early 60s with that fully reclining seat back that had a brake so it could be adjusted anywhere not just preset notches. They had the enormous for the time head rests some of you over the pond may remember which I liked. Lots more Motorcycles, scooters, ATVs, Boats and trucks we did over the span of almost 50 years.

Three years ago I bought my first Toyota, a 2012 Corolla. In great shape. It had been a lease and had all the regular maintenance so it was running well. Still is. I love my Corolla. I named it after my mom and call it Miss Daisy, as in, Driving Miss Daisy.
Mom's name isn't Daisy, but she reminded me of Miss Daisy in that movie. Same stubborn pride.

Good morning Overs.
Thanks for the itch solutions, I'll try to keep cool.
My own classic car is a 1983 series 3 Landrover. It needs a new chassis and an engine rebuild. It is the only car I have wanted to drive just to drive it.
Have a good day everyone.

Chilling at the beach for a week. It is so odd having down time, as I work a lot of hours and spend time at home doing my perpetual "Honey do" list. Actually have been doing some reading, which I never seem to have the time to do at home. Even at the beach, it's been quite warm, but it is better than working!
Have a good day all!

Sorry, Sass. The camel gets the holiday off. Maybe next week.
Rare day off for me too. I'm going to the Twins-Brewers baseball game this afternoon. My two favorite teams, should be fun.
Happy 4th to all my fellow Americans!

Is it true or was it an urban legend that the Nova did not sell well in Mexico and other Spanish speaking countries because Nova roughly translates to "no go?" I did not take Spanish in high school so I am curious.
Enjoy the day at the park FBL! I used to be such a sports nut, but lost interest in a lot of them when I quit drinking. I no longer am forced to sit in a chair drunk staring at the television for hours on end. In fact, I can't even remember the last time I turned a tv on. I get my screen time in front of a keyboard mostly these days.

I have heard that once Chevy got wind of that they changed the name in Mexico!
I have some sobering news: I found out officially yesterday that I’m in the process of dying from incurable, untreatable metastasized ocular melanoma.
I’m actually pretty copacetic so far—but then, I still feel totally physically fine.
So as not to hijack any threads, I have started a dedicated thread on the Newcomers’ forum called “A Different Path.”
I feel like not a thing has changed!

still prayers and support Gilly.
And you commented on the offhand way I slipped in the news about my study....I must've learned from the Master.
Do you wear a fake beard sometimes?
That would be quite the look- you and Wilbur...
for those not in the know..I have been leaving little bearded bread crumbs for Gilly all over the place.

Saw a great baseball game yesterday. The stadium was packed and it was hot & humid. Stadium security came and escorted out some drunks just a few rows in front of us. I didn't think they were all that disruptive, but I guess some of the families with little kids complained. I ended up eating 4 hot dogs and a delicious bowl of frozen custard. All in all a fun day.
Have a Thunderous Thursday, overs!
