Joining a monthly sobriety class is a great way to start your sobriety journey!
I'm a member of the August 2009 sobriety group, and the support and guidance I received from others back then, who were in the same mess as me, was invaluable. It was a vital part of my recovery plan.
I've been sober over 7 years now, and still in occasional contact with a few of my old "classmates."

Just popping in to wish everyone committing or recommitting to sobriety good wishes. I am a member of the January 2016 class, and made many connections who helped support me on this journey. SR is a wonderfully supportive community, spend some time reading and posting. Looking forward to welcoming all of you, and celebrating your sobriety!

I'm jumping into this class as a work in progress. Quit in 2009 with zebra's group. Didn't stick. Made half-hearted attempts to quit over the years since then, but for a wide variety of reasons I was usually pretty ok with my level of drinking.
Then I got a bit of a wake up call. Fatty liver. Seriously quit this past January. That lasted until Memorial Day when I had a follow up blood test (with great liver results), and decided I would be fine if I had a few while camping. Of course, that didn't work for long and it was creeping back to more days drinking than not. So here I am again.
During the past month+ of drinking again, it's really, truly sinking in that I can't be a casual drinker.

Best wishes. I don't know if I joined a class since when I came out of the hospital, things were chaotic and posting on here was a trigger for whatever reason. I would have been in the class of June 16 if I had joined. I'm 14 months clean.
Good luck to all of you!
Good luck to all of you!
Can I join the class please. Just recovering from a 2 week relapse and need to start again. I only had two beers yesterday (though was very sick) and hope to make August 1st my new day 1. Thanks in anticipation. Forwards.

Hi guys, Day 4 for me. I had a drink last Friday after 13 I think it was days off. To be totally honest this was planned as I had an event on but didn't want to mention that for obvious reasons.
Anyway i'm already back to Day 4 and feeling great. With no social stuff planned for August..
Let's do this guys.

morning. hi again PC. Congrats on 4 days sober81 and Teaorcoffee. Great news on 7 days Lilymaz. Hi Sath and Forwards too.
Count me in please. I had 3.5 years sober and picked up again last year. Tried a few times to stop again but with no success. I am determined this time and need to step up my efforts and do all I can this time.
Being in a class last time was instrumental in getting and staying sober. I'm on day 5 now and starting to feel a little better. The fog is clearing and my anxiety reduced. I need to be in a class with others going through the same thing where we can all help each other.
