Andy, beautiful poem! Mrs T is lucky to have you and you are lucky to have her.

Ok, Toots, I know I'm showing my ignorance .... what are "crimpoline hot pants"? It's that odd first word I don't get

I had an aunt in Europe who taught all kinds of things like sewing, knitting, crocheting, tatting, etc. She got me started tatting lace! I'm not planning on making big quilts - more like much smaller quilted objects.

IP, good to hear you have decided. Boring can be ok if you get your life enrichment elsewhere. Too stressful is the complete zero, imho.

Hi to all and have a good one.

I'm going to be impatient for the next two to three weeks. I got Billie's DNA test kit in the mail today, tested her, and just mailed it off. I am so curious as to what breeds of dog she is and soon I will find out.

Years and years ago, when I was a kid, my grandma showed me how to knit. I made a scarf, but didn't do it right and it ended up being triangular shaped instead of long and straight. That's the last time I tried to knit.

No, not 'inpatient', 'impatient', as in, I can't wait for Billie's results from her DNA test.

Hi, Least! I worried that you were sick, too!

On Pinterest I always see ads from Ancestry.com that ask, "Do You Have Royal Blood?"

Who knows, maybe somewhere far, far back in Billie's lineage she's part Afghan Hound!

(BTW, I know who was in my lineage: a bunch of drunken farmers, coal miners, and card players! I guess I'm the only noble one who's been produced!)

Gilly- ever heard that old one about the family who learn they are descended from aristocracy - buckets of money, but the ensuing legal battle see it all sucked up by the lawyers? Does happen.
My patriarchal nana- even names my Uncle -'Laird' (middle name) to mark his place in history. I think thy got a few dollars, but not very much..

More horrible than lawyers are the flesh-gouging estate taxes.

Morning overs

Oh what a giggle I'm having with your pontifications.

My mums friend was a dressmaker and she made me a crimpline mini dress in lime green, I loved it then but looking at a photo I had legs skinnier than baby twigs, looked like they snap as easy, too!

Sassy, you're going to have such a good time exploring your hobby!

Gilmer, some of my descendants are coal miners! I'm a coal miners daughter, lol.

FG , Gilmer, thought I'd missed Least's post!

Have a good Wednesday overs. Love and hugs to all.

Good morning Overs.

We have some sun today, which is much better than the autumn/fall winds we've been getting for the last two days.

Have a good day everyone.

Absolutely knee high white plastic boots!

Oh my ... and I have a bloodthirsty European "gentleman pirate" as an ancestor. My father showed me an entry in a European Encyclopedia after we visited his castle (now a museum). It had a pit where he tossed his enemies

PJ

Toots, we have a King Charles spaniel here at the OFH - adorable :-)

Hi Andy.

Hi Mags.

Gilmer, I never got very good at tatting - more often than not I'd end up with a bunch of tangled threads! I did get sewing machine to work yesterday. Some changes but not as much as I'd expected after 40 years ....

Hi to all!

I come from a long line of farmers. That's probably why I'm up with the chickens every morning.

I've mentioned it before, but one of my grandma's cousins (by marriage) was a gunman at the St. Valentine's Day massacre! Nobody messed with that branch of the family tree.

Happy Hump-Day, overs!

Hi, Overs!

Sorry for my absence.

The entire month of May until Mid-June is insanity for parents of school kids! Picnics, field trips, teacher gifts, assemblies, volunteer duties to be completed, and all of our church-related responsibilities as of late are enough to drive a mom to the brink!!!

Very, very grateful to be sober today- As crazy as it is, I have a handle on it!

Love to you all!

I agree Dharma!

The final stages of the school year are more exhausting for parents than the kids, I feel. Glad that you are keeping a handle on it all.

Have a great day all!

I see the end in sight, Dharma. In a few days both you and the kids will be free, free, free!
