“A person without a vision for his future will always return to the past.”
6:20am in Alberta, it's going to be a darn good day not to drink!
I'll have 24 more please, and thanks...
Thanks Dee!
Good morning everyone,
Like Jo said, coffee in bed on a peaceful, hangover-free Saturday morning is delightful--the highlight of my week! .
It used to be a struggle to drag out of bed to make the the coffee, a huge effort to get showered and stuff my bloated body into some kind of stretchy hangover uniform, and glob on some mascara so I could drive to an alternating beer store. I couldn't get there quickly enough, but took extreme care to hold off until at least 11 am so no one would think I was an alcoholic or anything like that. Oh, and douse myself with the strongest perfume I had just in case I started sweating out last night's nonsense post-shower. My hands would shake as I fumbled for my credit card, but soon I was on my way. Inevitably, on the way home, I would be driving ten over the limit when some stupid, stupid truck full of hay would pull out in front of me and drive ten under the speed limit!! The drive home was excruciating
What a difference today!! I feel like the day is wide open; no matter what I do or don't do it will be delightful. I love being sober. Maybe I will clean something. Or maybe catch a movie, call a friend, stay here, or drive out to the country.
Congratulations to everyone, especially our milestoners!! Have a great day, and know you are cared about here.
24 more hours, please
Love,
Red
